Sad to hear the news as a prior Gamespot/current Giantbomb fan. I have been following a lot of the crew here for what seems like decades now and I will certainly be following your work wherever you go next. Your contributions to this site were outstanding and you really broadened my horizon and introduced me to so many wonderful games that I would not have been exposed to otherwise during your time here.

Best of luck and happiness to you and your family going forward.

Are you going to keep updating this thread with info for the August meeting?

I was going to come on the 19th but was unable to make it. :( There's no way I'm missing the next outing - hope you guys had fun!

I live in the South Loop and I'm definitely in. There are too many posts to read here for me this late in night - what is the time and place for the meet-up?

I wasn't able to log into my account until now. Ryan was a good man. With all of this crazy internet uproar, it's clear that he will definitely be missed. My prayers are with him and his family.

Lightgun games on the Wii are terrible - rather than directly correlating to where you are pointing on the screen itself, the Wiimote tracks its relative position based on the sensor, making playing the game more akin to guiding a mouse pointer than it goes actually aiming a gun.  While I hate having to buy gun pheriphals that don't typically work with most HDTV's, I'd rather play House of the Dead 3 on the Xbox than use the Wiimote in something like this.  The shell does absolutely nothing to solve this problem - it is inherent to the design of the Wii itself and will always make shooting games on the system not as fun as most would expect.

So far my PS3 is almost exclusively a blu-ray player.  I own two games for my PS3 - Metal Gear Solid 4 and Gran Turismo 5 Prologue.  I look forward to some of the future exclusives coming to the system, but in general still use my 360 for multi-platform games.  I just can't get away from my Gamertag - points and the Live! community are simply more addictive than trophies so far.

That doesn't mean my PS3 goes unused.  Lately it's been on more than my 360.  I love watching blu-rays on my 60', 1080p tv!  They're simply amazing!  I don't really seeing myself buying too many other DVD's from this point on...

A burger is only as unhealthy as you cook it.  I would assume a grilled burger isn't that bad for you.  If you use a healthier type of bun (like wheat maybe?) I'm sure it can be even better.  Also, avoid using mayo and fatty types of sauces.

As long as you don't eat too many, hamburgers made from quality beef should be pretty good for you as far as I can tell.

All this hamburger talk got me thinking about the perfect sized burger.  You see, I've had HUGE burgers that require a fork and knife because they simply could not be picked up and bitten into effectively.  I've had bite-sized burgers that seem more like a snack than an actual meal and of course I've had countless normal-sized, average looking burgers.

Is it more satisfying to be able to pick a burger and bite out a huge, delicious chunk?  Does using a fork take away from the burger experience?  How about having two burgers that are medium sized, but both big enough to make you feel like you're actually getting more burger to enjoy (a lot of times 2 of something is better than 1, even if they're smaller).

I think my favorite burgers are the ones you can pick up and sink your teeth into....but just barely do it without having the whole thing fall apart everywhere.  What about you?

Discuss.

I really enjoyed it a lot.  I would say it was actually one of Bale's weaker performances, but mainly just because Batman isn't given a lot of focus in this film - he has no real chance to shine.  Instead, as pretty much any corner of the internet would tell you, Heath Ledger's Joker simply steals the show.  Solid performances for everyone else as well.

I liked the Dark Knight better than the original because it had an even darker, more serious tone.  It could have been a bit shorter, but I don't think you will be dissapointed by any means if you liked the original.
