How does the archery in Skyrim compare to the archery in Oblivion? Better? About the same? I never did much archery in Oblivion but I think I will when I start Skyrim.

A bit different, for sure, probably better later on. Oblivion archery was awesome because you had Speed and Acrobatics to supplement it, so you could be the fastest man alive running around shooting arrows at people. Late game it was still fun (sneak attacks ignored armor), but you couldn't come close to one-shotting a lot of stronger guys.

Skyrim gives you the option to enchant stuff with crazy +dmg to Archery, so late game it's amazing. Early on I didn't feel like I could ONLY use a bow in combat, but sneaking with a bow is the best.

35 archery is pretty low. Once you get that up higher, you'll be enjoying yourself a lot more. Perks make a hugeeeeee difference too.

Everything can be fixed with gear or using your whole array of skills. Despite the crazy mobs leveling with you in Oblivion, a good set of gear would make you GODLIKE. This is no different. Keep on keepin on, and you'll have an insane daedric bow in no time. Then things will get ugly.

Iron Ingot + Leather Strips = Iron Dagger.

Iron Dagger = +Smithing.

+Smithing = Good.

Go.

Then enchant said daggers, and make more money. But yeah... 10k+ is usually what 5 skill points via training cost. Buy a house to store stuff, then keep raking in the monies in the meantime.

I've almost always started out as a sneaky guy in all the Elder Scrolls series. I find it very entertaining, and it always helps make you awesome early on. The quests and guilds that favor stealth are always my favorite, too.

Of course, rushing in with a crazy OP weapon of your choice is always fun as well.

When I found the wolves caged up at this place, my first thought was HAAAAYYY FREE SOULS!

Seriously, though.... they were pixelated doggies, and you murdered them. Murderer.

Yessssssssss! In Oblivion there was a quest to insta-kill a necromancer by pickpocketing an item off him, and I was very happy to see that they put that idea in Skyrim.

Glad they put Orcs Must Die up.... but it always hurts when you buy something early in the sale (Splinter Cell pack!), then they drop the price on the franchise even more two days later. ;(

That's why you don't buy anything that isn't a daily sale until the last day. General rule for every Steam Sale.

If you do that you could potentially miss out on something you wanted because it didn't go on sale again.

What?

Put all the games you want to buy onto your wishlist. Check daily deals every day to see if any of those games pop up at reduced prices. At the end of the sale, buy all the remaining games on your wishlist that are still on sale, but did not become a daily deal. Profit.

You know games aren't on the same sale anymore from the previous deals? They are still on sale, but not nearly at the same price. For example. If you wanted GTA IV Complete pack. Earlier in these autmn deals it was like 10 bucks. Now after that day ended, it's 26 bucks. If you didn't buy it when the sale was on, the sale could end and potentially not come back for the rest of the sale.

The hell is going on here.. He is completely right. You don't buy anything that isn't on the daily deal. I can't help but feel you misread.

You buy stuff that goes on daily deal, and at the end of the sale if it hasn't went to a daily deal but you still want it then and only then you buy it. Ugh, I don't even know why I'm typing this reply. Rusputin said he bought Splinter Cell outside of daily deals then got burned cause it came onto a daily deal :S

He never said he bought it outside of the deals, he said he bought it earlier in the sale, then it went down even more. I assumed it was a daily deal, then it went down again in another one.

You mean two daily deals for the same game? This sale was only 5 days long. He definately bought it outside of daily deals.

Well the way he worded it made it sound like it was already on sale to me in the deals, then went down more. Because he said he bought it early in the sale then they dropped the price even more. The "They dropped the price even more" being the part that made me assume it was already one of the deals, then went down even more later.

Christ's beard, I didn't think this would spawn a debate. Originally I thought I did get it on the daily deal, but I could have been mistaken. The buy-only-daily-stuff strategy is always a good one.

But I could have sworn the only reason it caught my eye was because a big poster said FRANCHISE SALE in the daily section, and two days later it was back up again, but cheaper.

Can we all be friends now?

@MB: Niceeeee.

Don't know how far into sneak you are yet, but I just got the final Sneak perk (shadow warrior), myself... and I highly recommend that as well, especially for your play style. In a bigger fight with multiple targets, you can just drop into sneak from combat, essentially get a free sneak attack, rinse and repeat.

You totally made me want to use Bound Bow, btw.
