I've played 14 hours so far and I think I'm enjoying it. It feels like there is more going on than in Civ V which I can appreciate but, at times, it also makes it hard to keep track of everything. One of the most interesting things so far is the new district system; it makes the geography of your civs matter even more than it already did in previous games.

Things I don't like: things already start to slog around the mid game in terms of the computing time when ending turns (of course this is CPU dependent, but on a fairly high end CPU the lag between turns is definitely noticeable); barbarians can be insane in the very early stages of the game; the fact that this game can be bought in a bundle with the Steam controller gave me hope that the UI would scale in a way that everything is legible when sitting on the couch and playing on a TV but it's not; the AI is different from Civ V but I don't think it's better.

Regardless of any increase in loading speed, what I love about SSDs is that they further reduce the amount of moving parts in my PC. SSDs rarely fail and if they do they don't fail in the way traditional HDDs do. That bit alone already makes it worth it, to me.

Sad to see him go. He will be another one among the ex-GB people that I will mostly lose track of. I mean, I love Patrick and Austin, but I just don't have the time to keep track of the different places they all inhabit.

@dannyodwyer I love you, man, and I wish you a beautiful and bright future. I'll be sure to keep checking in on the world's #1 podcast about speedy race cars.

I'm now 3/4 of the way through and have to agree that while the game is plenty long, it feels a bit thin. Also, Prague feels really small to me.

I'm having fun, kind of. There are a ton of things about this game that I don't like, but the world is still cool as hell, the dialogue and in-world text is engaging to me, and I like Jensen. I dislike most of how the gameplay feels, though. The stealth feels rough and shooting seems barely serviceable. More than that, though, I'm having a lot of trouble looking passed all the bobblehead animations in this game; a lot of the character animations are just plain bad.

@oursin_360: It was definitely an error. Was only that price for minutes and then they broke the page to stop people from buying it. But I would say you should not be refunded from how that stuff usually works.

EDIT: Yup they even tweeted as much, and that it will not be refunded.

Yeah, I just randomly checked that game's page on GMG right at that moment. When I saw the large discount, I checked the deluxe edition but that was still at the 'regular' discount level. I thought that was strange but immediately decided the discount on the standard edition was too good to pass up on so I bought it. Apparently I was lucky enough to complete the transaction before they killed the page. I had no idea that it was a glitch and that it was only online for a couple of minutes.

It does this thing that I absolutely hate in games where objects clip into the game world in a really archaic and ugly way. Only watched the Quick Look but man I dunno. I also opened up several YouTube streams and for such wild variety, it all kind of looked very similar. Even the caves looked similar in all streams I've seen. I think this is going to be a pass on my end. Mankind Divided is out in two weeks and I have Grow Up on pre-order for next week so I'm good for now. Maybe I'll pick this up sometime in the future on a sale when they've added a whole bunch of features to it which make the whole gameplay loop a bit more interesting.

Yes. I've watched the entire QL and watched some streams and I already feel burned out on the way everything looks and the tedium of some of the survival-inspired mechanics. I'm sure there's a neat game hidden in there, but I don't have it in me to slog through however many hours it takes to get there.

Didn't Patrick just buy a house in Chicago? I doubt he'll move to NYC.

GB skeleton crew makes me sad.

Yes, exactly. Regardless of Dan maybe taking up a chair at GBeast, the West Coast crew has a serious hole to fill.
