@vrikk: I wasn't trying to"diss" anything but the game and the naive optimism associated with certain forms of American media, not the people!

Sorry if it seemed otherwise.

But, you know what, I'm bad at apologizing, so I don't know how to make this right. I take back everything I said.

I said something stupid, and I regret it.

I was hoping to get across why other games would deserve the time of game connoisseurs such as Mr. Shoemaker who's an exceptional writer.

Again, I'm sorry.

@magusmaleficus: Thanks. But, I didn't mean that literally.

So, I thought about the way I commented and realized I was being a d*ck to a lotta people, which I didn't mean.

My geography is bad and I forgot that Texas was a real place with real people and made a dumb mistake.

I apologize if I offended anyone from Texas or Brad, but, I'll leave my comment as is so people would learn from my wrong-doing.

However, if I offended RDR2 the game, good! It's a bad game.

To prove this thesis, I submit to you: try unlocking the Legend of the East outfit. You'd see how broken the game's convoluted systems are.

This is biased Brad.

"Playground of seemingly impossible vastness"?! Really Brad?!

Wanna compare numbers of square-meters?! Really Brad?!

Also, it's not Nihilism, but realism mixed with Satire.

This is an American optimistic point of view if I've ever heard one.

Rah, Rah America and Cowboys I guess. Brad's Texan roots are starting to show.

I always liked Vinny's perspective on things.
I trust his POV when he said the parenting direction of GoW is bad.

I hope Corry Barlog doesn't try Kratos's methods in practice! :P

@dichemstys: Thanks for the response and the sentiment.

Yes, I admit I wasn't sure I understood what her complaint was.

I realize that, like Vinny said, the game has so few characters and for a person who enjoys character creation so much, that'd be a bummer.

But, having a rational discussion with sound arguments is why I listen to these podcasts. I'm not interested in someone's mere opinions and feelings about a game if they provide no grounds to back it.

No Brad, "it's [not] insane that this game even exists". MGS4 did this 10 yrs ago with Solid Snake slowly withering and dying through the course of the game. It's not a novel idea, nor story.

I really wished Abby read a book by Simone de Beauvoir, instead of blindly reiterating the lines of today's movie critics about how a story beat maybe misogynist.

This sort of ignorant criticism by an unwillingness to elaborate leads me to believe Bertrand Russell's criticism of the modern-day feminism, because, it's simply not feminist.

How God of War can be criticized for the portrayal of women (even though it portrays only two, one of whom is dead), but, Detroit's flaws in exploring class/racial-discrimination looked over, is beyond me!

This was a game made by Santa Monica whose previous game included a QTE of Kratos engaging in intercourse with two women to gain experience orbs! The company has an extremely competent and well-deserved woman in leadership and, although the stories could still improve, they are clearly headed in the right direction.

I'm just baffled by this. But, I can see people strategically picking their battles this early. With Brad's constant criticism of the game because of fans' noise.

I realize that this is a fun list of the crew's favorites and isn't supposed to be taken seriously. But, games treat these endorsements seriously, and they help fund new projects and ventures and encourage publishers (just look at Hitman: GOTY). Some thoughtfulness and consideration would be appreciated.
