It’s not good times over at THQ headquarters, which expected to spend today’s quarterly earnings all pumping its fists about the great sales of WWE 12 and Saints Row: The Third, and instead had to explain how uDraw turned into a monstrously bad bet for it.
As fun as it looks, Johann Sebastian Joust is not a videogame. If they made a Bop-it in the shape of an xbox controller you wouldn't call that a videogame would you?
Only if instead of yelling commands it had shapes that scrolled down the screen and told you which colored buttons to press on your plastic guitar.
Also, it's the Independant Games Festival, not Independant Video Games Festival. Yeah, they don't have board games, sports, or drinking games, so I'd imagine whatever they pick is really at their own discretion.
I was interested in reading this because the title says that the VGA "might just be the [awards show the gaming industry] deserves." That led me to think that this was more an accusatory essay about the state of the game industry and its fans. It was not.
I was just wondering why videos that don't need to be widescreen, like DS Quick Looks, Random PC Games, and the new Chrono Trigger Endurance Run, are still put in widescreen? I have a 3:4 monitor, and want to sit on my bed and watch, but I have 3 or 4 inches on the top and bottom missing (which I'm used to for watching movies), but I also have as much space on the sides not being used. Can videos not be cropped without all the side designs and then put into a 3:4 ratio for sources that use that? Thanks.
