Maybe its the over abundance of MOBA games that's leading to the backlash? I'm just speculating mind you I've never really looked into the MOBA genre.

UMvC3 is my vice/comfort food atm, I hadn't played it in months but Evo got me hyped to try and get better. So I jumped back into Ranked fights only to get bodied left and right but when you get that win its oh so sweet. Minor note the ranking system for UMvC3 is a bit ridiculous.

You could tell both Geoff and Pachter were devastated by the news, the gaming community gives them both a lot of crap from time to time but there two really good dudes. I'm sure the next Invisible Walls will be dedicated to Ryan.

Pachter had me welling up all over again. ; _ ;

I'm profoundly devastated, I had just lost someone else close and now Ryan. I just can't believe it, my heart goes out to everybody Ryan touched. The dude was genuine and true to his core. . . he'll be missed by so many who never even met him.

You can't have everything, Sony has servers to run and that costs money. If they want to continue as a company they need to find new ways to gain revenue. I don't know if you've noticed as a company Sony hasn't been doing so hot financially. Another way to see PS+ is like Amazon Prime, you don't have to have it but the videos and shipping discounts add up over time to the point that it pays for itself. Bottom line Sony is providing a service and just like any service they need revenue to maintain and update that service. So either pay or enjoy the single player experiences; or buy a PC where you don't have to pay. Sony isn't going to change their stance on this.

Plus unlike Microsoft you don't need it for other payed services like Netflix. Sony has to get credit for at least not enforcing that policy.

@jazgalaxy: I think its just the fact that they could if they wanted. Or at least thats the perception simply from the fact that Disney owns them. I'm under the assumption that Marvel and whomever is in charge of Lucas still has a say in how their characters are used.

No because the reason that Kingdom Hearts worked in the first place was because of the meshing of Final Fantasy and Disney working far too well. Marvel and Star Wars doesn't have that going for them and therefore for me anyway, wouldn't feel right. Now Pixar on the other hand; well that's a different story.

I have the same feeling on the subject. I also think its just to many franchises that are way to different, let Disney Infinity take on that role. It feels more suited for that kind of mish mashing of franchises. I think a Pixar themed world is a good bet, I recall reading that they planed to have Toy Story in KH2 but they ran out of time.

These are some of the franchises I'd like to see in KH 3; Gargoyles, The Great Mouse Detective, Sword in the Stone, Treasure Planet, The Jungle Book, Emperors New Groove, Darkwing Duck, and revisiting some of the better worlds like Lilo and Stitch. I do hope though that we see more Final Fantasy cameos in 3. While Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2 had a slew of characters the hand helds have either reused the original cameos or none at all minus Zach in BBS.(Someone correct me if I'm wrong I've played them all but I can't recall any other cameos.) Hopefully Nomura will embrace the other Final Fantasy games he hasn't worked on and bring them into the fold. I'm looking at you FF6 and FF4.

Side Note: Even though I'm opposed to Star Wars/Marvel being included into the franchise. The idea of Vader as a secret optional boss in cloud city sounds pretty awesome, stupid and out of context but awesome none the less.

@triple07: For me its not so much what they've shown its what they've done over the PS3 life cycle. Creating titles like Uncharted, God of War, Ratchet and Clank, InFamous, Little Big Planet, Journey, and Sly Cooper have been amazing game experiences. I like Halo and I enjoyed Gears and Fable but as time went on I saw less new franchises from their studios that I gravitated to and began to care less about their big three franchises. Sony is always trying something new with crazy games like Heavy Rain and Octodad(I know they aren't making this but they head lined it for PS4 at the conference). I don't get that same feeling from Microsoft all I've seen over the last few years are a heavy focus on kinect games with maybe one or two major games. So in many ways I'm trusting that Sony will deliver great titles based on what they've done this last cycle. Even if they don't I can look forward to the third party non exclusive titles like Watch Dogs, FF 15, KH 3, and whatever else the future holds.

As for games that were announced the only one that's exclusive that I'm excited for is Second Son, Sony really hasn't revealed much in terms of new exclusives. Which I'm not to surprised by I'm sure next E3 they'll be a whole new slew of titles. To give some context, I started the generation playing an old 360 my brother gave me but moved to PS3 because of titles like Ratchet and MGS. I enjoy games no matter the console I was both a Sega and Nintendo kid growing up, but the policies, attitude, vision, and track record of Sony pushes me to upgrading my PS3 to a PS4 whether at launch or soon after.

For me it comes down to the IPs and none of MS do anything for me. They have a spotty track record in terms of IPs, where as Sony has kept creating new IPs that I've enjoyed.
