What I'm not playing

This is a list of the games that I was playing regularly, but am not playing anymore. It was easier to rename the list than it was to move all the items.

List items

  • This is a good game. Addictive time-waster. I hooked a couple of friends on the game. I'm surprised how deep the game is, considering that it's a gatcha game. You can get pretty far without having to make in-app purchases.

  • I re-watched the ending cutscene to 999 and decided that I wanted to pick up this series again.

  • After listening to the Spelunky Showlike podcast and the anticipation for the sequel, I started playing Spelunky on my Vita again. Before I stopped playing, I managed to open the tunnel to the temple.

Now that I've started playing again, I'm just playing the Daily Challenge. I can usually get to the Jungle, but not much further. I think I'm typically in the 300's on the leaderboard.

  • Because some friends were playing this, I started playing again in the past two months. I started watching videos (ROOT ViBE's bronze-to-grand-masters series) and I think I improved how I play.

I managed to get to Platinum for Protoss, and Gold 2 for all the other races (including Random). This is better than I've done in previous season.

I feel like I am better at macroing (making an economy) and am able to win longer games now.

However, my friends stopped playing, so I sorta bounced off StarCraft II multiplayer and went back to Dota 2. At the end of 2020 Season 3, I managed to get to Platinum in all three races plus Random.

  • After hearing from a friend from Armenia, I started playing this game again. I made significant progress and opened up a couple new areas, but I think I'm stuck again. Still, I'm pretty far.

However, when my time started being constrained, I couldn't find the time to wander this world and look at the puzzles. I still want to go back, but I'll need bigger blocks of time before I'll be able to make much progress.

  • I had no idea this was coming out. It was an impulse buy for my Switch, and I'm so happy I got it.

I really enjoy my time playing it, but I don't think I've picked up my Switch in the past four months. It's a game that I definitely want to get back to, and I think the bite-sized play will make it easier for me to get a game in from time to time.

  • I bought this game because of the stay-at-home order for the pandemic in March 2020. This game really clicked with my girlfriend, to the point that I bought another Nintendo Switch Lite and another copy of the game.

It's one of the only games that we play together, and it's fun to decorate islands and relax when our house is just such a mess. :D

I'm really happy I got this game, and that we're getting a chance to play something together.

We bounced off this game pretty hard, especially when we started running into problems with the joycons. We did get a replacement joystick, but just haven't had the time to play because things suddenly got really, really busy.

We still love this game, and will probably get back to it when we're not long-distance anymore. We'd prefer to talk via FaceTime and catch up instead of playing a game together.
