Hey, so I was the eggplant caller. I had learned about this a long time ago in a magazine article about why fast food can't be healthier, and I wish I can remember which magazine or anything more specific but they quoted the story of a McDonald's higher-up wanting to do the sandwich but "there weren't enough eggplants in the world." I do remember it being explained exactly like that. I mean, that's memorable. Thinking about it now, it was probably that they couldn't acquire the amount they needed on the global supply chain.
