I like how the Youtube thumbnail for this video is the exact opposite.

I feel like many of these scientific dips are shallower than they could be, I know it's largely meant to be a tongue-in-cheek series but it's still a bit disheartening to see the dudes randomly push buttons and rate the game based on how it goes without really trying to figure out what kinda systems and global actions the game has. I expect that approach only from people who are not very familiar with the genre.

Going as far as checking an online guide pre-science would be too much for what is ultimately entertainment, I agree, but I wish they would at least look at the move lists and "how to play" sections if the game presents such. Sonic for example is by no means anything above decent but it's not THAT bad by a long shot. They didn't know about many of the mechanics and moves in the game such as dodging and hyper mode.

The online can be rough at times. I hope it's just early issues. I played some games with a friend online from the same country, we both have great internet, it would just drop from 5 bars to 1 bar sometimes for minutes and then pop back up to full. Same thing happened with strangers online sometimes.

Jesus Christ these comments. I'm not even American and I feel like I like America more than most of the people who are commenting here. Just because you like your country, want to celebrate Fourth of July and make some seasonal content doesn't mean you are some crazy white supremacist or whatever people here are even trying to say. I don't understand. Of course there are bad aspects about everything. Nigh every country in the world has rough patches in their history. The fact the origins of the US might not be all smiles and some things being rough even today doesn't mean you can't celebrate everyone living there today and the idea of trying to work together to make a better tomorrow.

Abby and Dan are both clearly decent people given their values and they celebrate and promote THEIR idea of America where everyone is welcome. People's ignorance concerning the intent of this content is almost as bad as people these days getting mad that people are waving their country's flag in an international sports event. You can root for your country without it somehow implying you agree with every single aspect of it and hate everyone else.

This is cool. I heard they stopped making DOA "for now" so I didn't expect another one so soon but apparently the torch was passed to a new guy, Yohei Shimbori, who is now the director and producer of the game and has a past of extreme fighting game enthusiasm where he tried to get fighting games to be recognized as a sport way before "esports" was a thing. Looks like he wants to tone down fanservice in favor of making it a cool and more believable fighter that portrays the characters with more realistic physics and attire which is fine by me.

I'm no prude when it comes to sexy stuff but I'd like for it to stay it in the games and other material specifically designed for that stuff. If I play an actual video game with well designed gameplay and there's boobs flying everywhere for no reason it just feels dumb and makes it feel like a cheap game just trying to cash in on sex appeal. I'm sure higher-ups at Koei Tecmo will make them put in skimpy outfits as DLC later on because it will make money but unless the director himself changes his stance on the core visual style looks like he's someone I can repsect.

I feel like that swamp alone is more BS than anything in the first game (it's annoying even WITH a guide) and I can't believe they didn't improve the keycard stuff. I'm way into this.

I like how there's a cut at 8:20. Everyone needed to take a moment to recover from seeing Mario Party.

Not gonna lie, $60 feels like quite a lot after getting the last two Kirby games for $40 new on 3DS. Also 30 fps limit feels a bit weird since the game doesn't look super amazing compared to Super Mario Odyssey or other games the Switch has to offer. Looks like a game that should be able to reach 60 on Switch at least when docked. And as a third and most important observation the gameplay revolves around the friend mechanic a lot so if you play alone it doesn't seem like a ton of fun as you need to keep babysitting the CPU to make use of their presence/powers. In addition there's no netplay so you essentially always need local friends for optimal enjoyment.

Put these together and even though I would consider myself a fan of the series I'll pass for now. Maybe get it later if it ever drops in price (knowing Nintendo probably in like 5 years) or if I get a good deal used.
