It's so weird to see how the $600 PS3 monster machine has so many damn problems. This isn't a fanboy post, I own a PS3 and like it a lot.

Well the PS3 looked good on paper . . . and still does when they build games as exclusives. It just didn't come close to being as awesome as PS2 was.

Oh no doubt. Games that are strictly for the PS3 can look amazing. It's just very strange that ports often turn out terrible.

It's because while Sony was busy winning the format war with Blu-ray, Microsoft was quietly winning the graphics API war with Direct X.

My advice is simple:

When arguing, don't do these.

Specfically the section on red herring fallacies. Real easy trap to fall into and be torn apart by.

That and the list of cognitive biases seem like something that should be taught to everyone in school at some point. Really useful stuff.

I've been drinking Riverboat Rye recently, which is surprisingly good for something you can find for under $20. Rittenhouse Rye is an excellent under $20 as well, but hard to find where I live.

Asking what the point of something is presumes that things ought or need to have a point.

Wow, reading the comments on the one hundred dollar question makes me really afraid for the state of reading comprehension. How can a blog entry that specifically states, "...I did not get angry at [Steam], and I'm still not angry at them," have so many long, angry comments about him being angry at steam.

@ArbitraryWater: If you're willing to count the Satellaview LoS games, then it's happened already.

@thedj93: Queer is a catch-all for anything that falls outside of heterosexuality or gender norms. Kind of like adding an etc. to the end so no one is left out.

Is the GB community highly educated, or are highly educated people just more likely to click on a thread asking how highly educated they are?

Just finished my MA thesis a couple hours ago.

I jumped right into Brotherhood without any trouble. There were a couple things I wasn't quite on, but they just added some enticing mystery to the background and weren't detrimental to the experience. I think the only time sequels are too confusing to enjoy without having experienced their predecessors is when the narratives are both complex and poorly constructed.

So ask yourself this would you design a game for the female at 42% and expect less sales from the males at 58%?

That question assumes that making a game more appealing to one gender necessarily makes it less appealing to the other, which isn't true. As you said yourself, there are "hardcore" games that don't have over-sexualized women. Even in games that do

because equal rights=male bashing.

It really doesn't. I think you might actually be pleasantly surprised if you watched some of her videos. She discusses damaging male stereotypes, too.
