I've been digging thru old game videos, because of Jeff's MiSTer fetish, and we really should have some sort of onsite queue where we could feed requests.
I'd really like to get the groups thoughts on the music from Doom Troopers on the Genesis.
Despite myself, I laughed at the opening cinematic, but then cried thru the remainder.
I was hopefully optimistic for this one, but the final product is not the thing I was looking for. I could be down for a replayable Contra (lord knows I played the original a bajillion times) with upgradable weapons, but this, this is not that. I think what sticks out the most is the overall tone. This doesn't feel like an Earth invaded by an alien force, it feels more like a zombie apocalyptic shooter, and the fact that you can't play 2 player co-op right out of the gate is a crime against humanity.
I guess game bugs and the flow of the game could be fixed with some patches, but the overall aesthetic is not going away. Sad.
