You don't need to learn to home-row type. You really don't.

Touch typing - typing without needing to look at the keyboard all the time - is very useful, but that's different to strict "these keys are for my left hand, and these keys are for my right hand, and never the twain shall meet" home-row typing. If home-row works for you, then great, but it's not necessary at all.

So Jonny Blow and Pals are making an anniversary edition of Braid. The main new thing is that they're going to do some very extensive developer commentary - they say they want to make the most in-depth commentary ever in a video game. Braid is probably the first game to ever make me think about game design as something more than just 'make it fun' so I'm pretty on board for that. Their website says they're aiming for Q1 2021, so I look forward to its eventual release in 2024 or whatever.

In addition to the d-pad issues, I'd say the other thing that you might or might not like about the Switch Pro controller is how 'chunky' the face buttons are. They're all big, stick out from the controller a fair bit, and don't require a great deal of force to press. Perfectly usable, but not personally my favourite button-feel, especially compared to a PS4 controller which my main point of reference. The analogue sticks are very nice though, so if you're mainly going to use it for stick-based games it's a nice controller.

But yeah, the main issue is that the d-pad really is atrocious. I couldn't even play Picross on it, it was that bad. I genuinely mean it when I say the d-pad on that thing is unusable.

Here's why I think that access to public servers is going to need standard access, not club access:

No Caption Provided

I've cut this from the ridiculous monster checklist of all the things you get at each tier. It looks like 'public club room' is their term for 'public server', and you only need standard access to get to them.

'Club' is not the term for server, that seems pretty clear - their analogy is that you're joining a sports club and so being in a club lets you access internal competitions and events with just your club members. To do that, you need club access, but it seems like there's one part of the club which you can make accessible to standard tier players.

Or who knows, maybe I'm reading into this all wrong. Working all this out is so much harder than it needs to be.

Has anyone else found LM2 to be unstable? I've had three full-on quit-to-home-menu crashes so far on Switch, though thankfully without too much progress lost. It also hitches by a few frames every so often, which is really annoying.

LM1 seems fine, though I'm annoyed they moved the shortcut in the Tower of the Goddess, as you now can't climb it without the feather and that ruins my no-bosses run.

Both these games are still super fun, though.

The whole of the Pokemon TCG soundtrack is way better than it has any right to be, but one track I really love it's equivalent of the Elite Four battle theme, especially for the transition from 1:23 through to 1:45. The main melody is 4/4, but the way it falls away from that main theme, switching between 3/4 and 4/4 to build up rhythmic tension, only to come back to 4/4 in double time is just gorgeous.

Also, I know nothing about Plok as a video game other than listening to Youtube videos of its OST, but man does it have some bangers. That switchup at 0:50 is nuts.
