@rayne117: and? I worked 3 jobs while going to college. Why? Because I had to. I had to scrape and claw for everything I have. If others don't have that, I can't say I feel sorry for them. I grew up poor in a 1 bedroom house maybe 700 square feet, raising chickens and working on a farm with my dad so we could eat. If a chicken died, well, that just means we wouldn't have meat for the week. Failing over and over again is what I grew up with. I saw others with shiny things that I couldn't come close to getting. Where ice cream was a luxury I could only get at birthday parties IF I was invited.

I kept pushing. Now I'm in a much better place financially where the only bill I owe is my house. Get depressed? Sure, but that isn't the end. You can only go up from rock bottom. To me, people think they are depressed when they are really saying, "Life's not fair, I give up". It irritates me when I see people give up and not at least try. As I said before, there isn't anything wrong with submitting a resume. Sometimes you land the job, sometimes you don't. Life isn't going to hand you anything if you sit on your hands. I'll even help you out if you ask. You just have to make an effort and try.

@rayne117: Exactly, there are plenty out there. Whether you find it desirable or not, there are jobs. They don't have to be fulfilling, they just have to put food on the table. Find fulfillment at home or in your spare time. If you get both? Lucky you. I would suggest Monster.com or Indeed.com for starters. There is no harm putting your resume out there and see what sticks, who knows, you might wind up in a place that is awesome or a new life experience.

@curryspiced: No, they get it. They also know you can go somewhere else if they aren't happy. I'm not saying it's great but there are plenty of other options out there if you want a normal 9-5 job. Or wait until AI can do it all for us.

@overdeezpecans: Ha, to have it happen over and over, yes. That is bad business practice but then again, I'm in emergency response so if it has to be done or people will die. You're right though I guess the "company" can get rekt or people can get rekt. Your choice in my line of work.

@bsmittel: Not entirely sure what you're talking about, I was talking about the back and forths that just flow well. The feed each other very well. It is well within your right to turn stuff off, I'm just not sure your reply was based off of what I was speaking to. As far as overworking people, meh, I have to pull 80-100 hour weeks without extra pay sometimes. Stuff needs to get done.
