I had exactly Jeff's experience with Outer Wilds, and it was nice to hear someone say it out loud. Now that I've heard so much about the game, I'm sure I'll go back and try again and won't struggle at all, but I've tried to start that game twice and I've had a miserable time so far.
That was my experience then it became one of my favorite games of all time.
Pretty low effort on the videos this year, guys. In future perhaps it would be better to cut back on the exhaustive GOTY category deliberations and use the freed up time to devote more effort to the videos.
Why assume that cutting back on breezy discussions will open up a ton of "free time" for high energy, high production stuff? Sorry i'm not calling you out specifically but i keep seeing this and a broader perspective has to be missing here. If you listen to them regularly you'll note all the burnout even that breezier stuff has created (and likely still creates) and as some of us all get older it's absolutely necessary to parse stuff out and deliver the "less is more" approach, which this absolutely is rather than forcing out a dead on your feet muppet show. They even want to do some of the stuff you all want too but probably just have only so much energy for "performance", even before all the technical & production issues which aren't fixed via magic. As someone who works 60+ hours a week, i completely get it and can't begrudge ANYONE for wanting to work smarter instead of harder, even if that means less content, and only content they are comfortable with. More free time should go to families, reducing burnout, it makes things better overall than the stuff they may have been miserable doing previous years. The creativity is best held in the smaller more impromptu moments not in some grandiose construction anyway. Right?
Hey all! Not an excuse but an explanation, with a shorter week I was in rush for production shtuff so the audio unfortunately suffered from that. That compiled with a lot of moving parts (missing files, corrupted audio, etc.), I wanted to try and salvage what we had.
I hope y'all enjoy the Winter Games despite the audio issues.
Thanks @janman most of us really understand, you all did a spectacular job this year.
Also Abby's reaction winning the tournament = Top Moment of 2019
If some of you want people to "rant" about video games there's an endless sea of genuinely miserable content out there to delight each and every one of you on YouTube!
