Rumour is that Microsoft didn't allow them to show the trailer at E3. At least I think I read that somewhere. Even though Bungie split off on their own from Microsoft, their logo comes up in the trailer, too.
Gotta love viral marketing. It has Halo 3 emblazoned on at the end of the trailer, but I don't think it could be an expack. If it is a squad based, GRAW-style, game, it'd have to be it's own title, right? I kinda like the idea of this, but in the end I only got Halo 3 for the multiplayer. if this game has multiplayer, that'd be pretty damned cool.
Any word on what the downloadable content will be? All I've seen so far are these different game modes. They seem pretty cool, especially Proto Man mode.
This game is definitely challenging, but by no means cheap. This is how all of these games started out. You play, trial-and-error, until you've figured a level well enough to get to the Robot Master in good shape, so you can take him ( and now her) on. So far, I'm totally excited by what I've seen (only had a chance to try out three stages) and I'm going to keep coming back for more.
This is what the old school games were and it just goes to show that all a game really needs these days is gameplay to please the masses.
I still haven't picked up Smash Bros. Brawl yet, so I have to get that. I have GH3 for my Wii as well, so I'm leaning on getting World Tour for the Wii as well (since I already have a guitar). I'm also considering trying out the new Fatal Frame. Nothing else is coming to mind, but I'm sure there'll be some other titles worth getting in 2008.
I picked up a couple of titles off the VC during the first few months of the Wii, but the only one that I've been eagerly awaiting thus far is Super Mario RPG. A friend of mine is lucky enough to have this on cart. I've considered getting the cart as well, but there are some pretty steep prices out there. I'd love to have it on the Wii, but it's taking forever!
This one may seem a little silly, but I figured I'd throw it out there.
For some reason, ever since I was a kid, I changed some of the names of the characters in FF6. Some started off as a joke, some I'm not sure why, but to this day there are certain characters I always rename. Here's the ones that stuck:
Shadow = Ace (Why, I'm not sure. Can't seem to recall why, but I've always continued to.)
Edgar = Poe (For some reason I always thought Edgar was too normal, so I went for the last name of Edgar Allan Poe.)
Gau = Animal (Whenever I read his text as a kid, I always did it in the muppet, Animal's, voice.)
Strago = Blue (This one is relatively new. I did it once as a kid because he was a blue mage, but since the movie Old School, he's my boy, Blue!)
Here are some I used to use and don't anymore:
Setzer = Gambit (I always was a fan of the X-Men.)
Locke = Robero (At combination of the fact that he "robbed" people and it was a nickname of a friend.)
Mog = Moog (I've always pronounced the name phonetically "Mogue" and that is how Andy Moog pronounces his last name. He was a former goalie for the Boston Bruins, in case anyone is wondering.)
Yeah, so that's my list. I know, it's kinda lame, but I figured I'd see if anyone else does the same thing.
I'm totally in agreement that this is the best RPG I've ever played, to date. I certainly haven't come across any with as great of a storyline, ensemble of characters or sidequests to do. I've been playing RPGs for many years, before and since this game came out, and it's not only my favourite FF, but my favourite RPG, hands down.
