Metal Gear Solid 5.

I'd always liked MGS mostly from afar but this game hooked me. It's a great game, wonderful design, good missions, a bit too light on story... but I loved that game... Then I reach the 2/3rds-ish point where it wants me to replay missions on harder difficulty/different objectives and I realize "wait... is this just shitty padding?" I start googling and find out yeah, that's basically all that remains before the 'endgame', there's almost no story left at this point and if I really want the story that should be in the game I have to watch deleted scenes that were in the super special edition (that I actually bought, so I'm not pissed I didn't get it, I'm pissed they would do such a thing). It is painfully obvious that Kojima was not done that game and Konami didn't give a fuck and said "You got a few months to ship what you've got."

I stopped playing and never went back. I watched on Youtube what I missed story wise (not much) and wrote the game off. It really is a great 2/3rds of a game but the fact that Konami pull that shit (and that reviewers somehow ignored it/didn't notice it when reviewing it) pissed me off and soured the entire experience for me. What should have been Kojima and Konami's Magnum Opus turned out to be an unfinished wreck because some suits wanted their investment back right then instead of a year from then. In closing, FUCK KONAMI.

I'm glad to see not everyone is on the Alex Hatewagon... I loved the game, as did my wife. My playthrough got Connor killed on Jericho after going Deviant, Kara, Luther and Alice ended up in the camp and died trying to escape. North got shot and Marcus (who led a nonviolent protest throughout) got the remaining androids to sing and forced the President to finally pay attention to public opinion and stop the slaughter of Androids.

I didn't love it as much as my wife (who the game was all but made for) but I really liked it for the fact that my playthrough went some dark places. Alex gave it way too much shit for some reason. Heavy handed or not, it was not as bad as he makes out.

Oh, and I let Hank kill Connor on the rooftop after he came back one final time, evil this time, to try and ill Marcus. I didn't even fight back in that QTE (which, might have been a mistake, I dunno, but I wasn't gonna take the chance he killed Hank).

@sigh.: This I think is the best idea. That way people could decide as they come upon it instead of just peacing out.

I'll miss the marathons, it's fun to watch a whole series with chat, especially the endurance runs that never had a chat in their day...

I've been playing EVERY Switch game with just the Joycons. No extra sliders, no Joycon Grip, just bare assed Joycons and I love it. I guess I'm a garbage person. ^_^

As someone who even loves the black sheep Trek shows (DS9 and Enterprise) I can’t stand Discovery so far.

It started off promisingly with most of the first episode (It felt like it was taking it's time, letting it breathe but that second one makes the first JJ Trek look like old school Trek. The deus ex machina was in full swing with Michael and them making Klingons religious was just a weird choice. The death of the captain and making the albino Klingon the inevitable antagonist were both predictable and both are overdone tropes. Oh, and Albino Klingon looks like Buffy's The Master. It turned into an action movie where decisions were made without any logic just to have a “cool action scene”. The CGI was sometimes good but also often awful. Michael remarks on the beauty of the Klingon ship as she flies over it & it looks like a game that didn’t load the good textures in yet.

Also, the title theme is worse than bad, it's unremarkable and unmemorable. I hate the Enterprise theme but I at least get what they were going for even if it would have been better with Archer's Theme as originally planned. This theme just feels like Generic Movie soundtrack #74 and that's an even worse sin than Enterprise's Adult Contemporary theme.

I am very disappointed. I went in, not expecting it to be good, expecting New Trek and was getting hopeful as it went on but then it went full New Trek.

If the teaser at the end of episode 2 is anything to go by the show being called Discovery is going to be so ironic.

I used a 1600X Ryzen building my latest PC and it's great. It's also pretty overclockable too so far. The Ryzen chips are really good and it's nice to see AMD finally basically catch up to Intel again.

Also, Battlegrounds makes use of the multicore and it helps a lot in case you're gonna go Murder Islanding.
