@Manhattan_Project: A friend of mine always listens to rap in his car, and finally I just started liking it.  I will always like bands like Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Muse etc. more, but I do realize now that unlike I used to claim, all rap is not crap.

Never thought I'd like rap, because I mostly listen to bands like Eagles, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Kings of Leon, Mogwai etc.  Then I started liking Lil Wayne, Dr. Dre and Eminem.

@TheGreatGuero: Go watch Apocalypse Now asap.  I honestly think it is one of, if not the, greatest movies of all time.

Apocalypse Now.  Was Kill Bill Vol. 1 for a long time, but there was just something about AN that did it for me.

Can't believe anyone hasn't mentioned the Hyperion Cantos yet (Hyperion, Fall of Hyperion, Endymion, Rise of Endymion).  All great reads.  Also, Spin (and its sequel Axis) by Robert Charles Wilson are just stunning.  I'd go so far as to say Spin is one of the best books I have ever read.

I went to a "revenge of the nerds" night at a local bar, dressed up as a box of Nerds candy.  Then I created a giantbomb.com account so I could type that here.
