My Best of 2015. If you don't like it, shut up and deal with it.

This is a list of games. I liked these games. If you don't like them that's not my problem.

The "Close but No Cigar" Award goes to: Just Cause 3, and Nuclear Throne

The "Incredibly Huge Disappointment" Award goes to: Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number

P.S. GIant Bomb's numbered lists are stupid, which is why this is an unordered list with my own numbers put in. Okay, "stupid" might have been a bit over zealous, but why can't you make number 10 the top item? It ruins all of the suspense if number one is just staring you in the face.

List items

  • 10) I played a lot of Destiny last year, and when I finished both of the raids multiple times I thought I was done with it. I stopped liking Destiny after that. The Taken King changed all of that, and I played it a ton and then finished the raid twice. Now I don't care about Destiny again. Pretty good though.

  • 9) Hand of Fate is game I don't know how to explain, but it is the first rogue-like-ish thing that's ever held my attention for multiple months and I still come back to it now and again. Some patches have made it run much smoother now, too.

  • 8) I didn't like The Walking Dead Season 1 and never played Season 2, but The Wolf Among Us got me into a comic book series. Telltale is pretty hit or miss with me, but this one is their best entry yet. Loader Bot rules.

  • 7) Fallout 4 is just Fallout 3 with a new coat of paint, better shooting, no durability stats, and a needles base building addition. It was everything I expected and I had a blast with it. Exploring the world was super fun, and when I didn't feel like doing that I could just zone out and build my giant Power Armor vault.

  • 6) Rocket League is a cool game for cool people. I don't like soccer and I hated Super Acrobatic Rocket Powered Battle Cars. Rocket League cuts all the shit of that game and distills it to the purest form of car soccer. It's got some great music, too.

  • 5) Evolve gets a lot of shit, but if you're playing it with friends (or weird, creepy people you just met on a Giant Bomb forum that later become friends) it rocks. Hunting down a monster while quoting Hyde is to much fun, and sneakily killing your friends as Goliath or Kraken tops it. Just remember, "Tyrant! Respect It!"

  • 4) The first Metal Gear game I've ever played for longer than 20 minutes, also happens to be the best stealth game I've ever played. This series' controls always drove me away, but with that fixed and Metal Gear Scanlon getting me caught up on the story, I couldn't put this one down. Even with a cross-country move halfway through the game, I was itching to keep playing.

  • 3) Those friends I made on these forums while playing Evolve joined me as we jumped ship to Helldivers. I don't know if I've had a more fun co-operative experience than Helldivers. Dodging enemy fire and killing Bugs is too much fun, but doing it while dodging your buddies fire is even better. Calling in nukes on yourself while going prone in the blast radius is pretty good too.

  • 2) Those three friends and I, along with some others, also played Mortal Kombat X. Mortal Kombat 9 was one of my favorite MKs second only to MK II. Mortal Kombat X became my favorite. The variations for each fighter makes it so there is a way for you to enjoy playing almost every character, and for the first time in recent MK history I haven't disliked a new a character. I am eagerly awaiting the release of Kombat Pack II, even though it probably won't stop me from maining Kano.

  • 1) I read the first Witcher book because of the Witcher 2. I am reading the second Witcher book because of the Witcher 3. CD Projekt Red made a disgusting, awful, beautiful world that feels alive and lived in. The writing only adds to that feeling, and this games side quests are some of the best moments I've had in a video game. I only wish the Novigrad quest-line was shortened as it seems most people die out on The Witcher because of that sections slow pace. That DLC was pretty good too.
