It's been 7 years since the Xbox 360 was released. It's likely that a lot of gamers have gotten extremely comfortable with their devices and we might see a lot of resistance to the next generation of hardware. Whatever Orbis and Durango wind up being will have to be dramatically different for there to be an expedient rate of adoption, or at least that's my prediction.
I am ready for another generation of hardware though, even if my financials aren't quite as prepared for it. I'm really tired of this cycle. Games can look and feel so much better after this amount of time. I'm sick of blocky textures and less-than-ideal draw distances. It's time. It has been time for a while now.
I have seen a lot of discussion about Slender-Man over the last few months, likely inspired by Hadley's game. I've been fairly ignorant of the entire concept, but this was an intriguing read. It prompted me to go and read a bunch of stuff about Slender-Man, and check out some of the doctored photographs. All bad decisions when I'm minutes from going to bed.
I'm going to need to check out Slender. I feel sort of ashamed for having ignored it all this time Great article Patrick.
Every time they are slated to release a new episode there is suddenly a giant trade show on the horizon, and the release is delayed. Coincidence? Probably not. For episode 2 it was E3. With episode 3 they want to show it at PAX before they release it.
