I would love to see better support for HTTP headers! Instead of putting the API key in the request URL, it could be sent as a bearer token using an Authorization header; instead of specifying the response type in the request URL, it could honor the requested Content-Type header.

@larzhino: I had the same issue in Pocket Casts and this fixed it!

I'm really fond of the Syndicate (2012) campaign. The story wasn't perfect, but it was serviceable enough. The gameplay is top notch, though. The breaching mechanics were a ton of fun and it gave you a lot of flexibility to deal with enemies. Plus any game that gives me characters voiced by Brian Cox and Michael Wincott is a-ok in my book.

@silver-streak: Maybe not system level (if by system, you mean Xbox/PlayStation/Windows). No incentive to use it there; if you're making a cross platform game, especially, you're now dealing with 3 different implementations of the same functionality (at best), or 3 very different sets of functionality. Like I said in my previous post, putting that stuff at the engine level makes the most sense. There are consumer advocate groups pushing for accessibility functionality like this from Netflix/Hulu/et al., but I'm not personally aware of any that are doing so for video games, at least from a software perspective.

@ezekiel: You're correct, but that doesn't make it right. What I'd love to see are accessibility options at the engine level, for products like Unity and Unreal. Does your game leverage positional sound? Well, here's a part of our toolkit that does that, and lets you allow for optional visual indicators for the deaf and hard of hearing. Do you have a lot of text? Here's a font size slider. Lots of in game text that might be difficult to read? Here's a catch-all screen reader type function that's built in to our engine, and you can use it to provide descriptions for the visually impaired.

Settings > Accessibility > Subtitles

And it should be one of many, many more accessibility options.

Regards,

A somewhat bitter, cynical web developer that has to worry about accessibility far beyond subtitles and "color blind mode".

Paddington. My wife had put it on because my son got a Paddington bear for his first birthday earlier this month. It's the first thing on a screen he's reacted to that wasn't his own face (he giggled like crazy during a montage of the bear doing random things). 11/10, would watch again, even though I have no idea what was going on.

@ceen: @bbalpert: I have been having this exact same problem. I think I'll try setting quality manually. I usually stream directly out of the browser from my phone, rather than via Plex.

BrĂ¼tal Legend. It's a personal favorite--definitely not perfect, but the tone, world, atmosphere, and characters were all really well done. The RTS combat needs work, but with the rise of the MOBA genre, I think if they took some inspiration there, the game would work a lot better. I need more metal-inspired video games!
