This looks really fun. It seems like the series is getting to just be a straight-up open world rpg set in historical settings, which I'm 10000% on board with. Skill trees, selection of player character, dialogue options, gear grinding. This is basically what I want out of an RPG, and if I get to "cavort like the greeks of old" mass effect style it'll be pretty dang close to my ideal videogame.
I hate to be down on anything From Software makes, they've more than earned the benefit of the doubt from me, but I still can't help looking at this and seeing something that plays like Dark Souls or Bloodborne but with a less interesting setting and player character. THAT SAID, that's an opinion based off just brief teaser trailers. And From Software has had me hooked to their games since the first time I played Armored Core, so maybe I just need to have a snickers and come back feeling less cynical.
Sending some fools to Barkerville! I'm real glad this ended up being cool, Dontnod has a real good sense for characters and relationships, it's really exciting to see how the relationship stuff factors into the gameplay in this. I also had exactly the same turn on my opinion of the hottie protag as Abby did. Nice beard, sharp dresser, a job wit da benefits, BLOOD NAILS?!
It's OK to like games that other people don't like. It's even OK to like objectively bad games, even when you acknowledge them yourself as being bad. I'd never even try to defend Too Human or suggest anyone play it, but it's one of my top games of all time. Enjoy Andromeda as much as you want, but don't get mad when people point out how objectively bad it is.
@three0nefive: As soon as any other game is as moddable as a Bethesda-engine game, I'll agree that there's nothing their engine can do that others can't. I haven't seen another RPG where I can so easily extend my character creation from the game out into gimp and blender and creation kit.
