About that first part of the God Of War discussion:
I completely agree with Abby. Freya being the only woman (present) in the story matters.
Her argument didn't come across agressive/defensive to me at all, but even if that was the case, of course you would be nervous about taking that position, when there are one billion adolescent jerks out there eager to get all emotional and confrontational out of their own insecurity (and then straight up harras you). And bailing out is totally normal. Getting into gender issues in this space is akward, Giant Bomb dosen't usually deal with hard things...
But I'm very happy that someone mentioned this as a part of the God of War discussion.
Anuway, I liked the game a lot, but I was also disappointed that they never recognized a fraction of the disgustingly bad shit Kratos did in the previous games (Poseidon's Princess :/).
I think it's very interesting that the game makes me like tough dad Kratos... but I wished it had attempted to do so without sweeping stuff under the rug.
In a way It felt kinda like watching a Kevin Spacey movie does now.

I have worked in web frontend for 5+ years and as I'm slowly moving into game development I am shocked to realize just how insanely annoying CSS is compared to C# or C++ programming.
A good frontender can use CSS to codify a design into a super flexible framework similar to Bootstrap, like they mention in the podcast, where it is suddenly quite easy to make a lot of website with the same components...
But I find that keeping such a system alive over time is nearly impossible...
In a programming language you can harden your systems and they can be somewhat self explanatory... Someone break discipline and the system can slap their fingers with a clarifying exception error.
But with CSS you rely 100% on your documentation, there are no schemas, no direct feedback. Look away for 2 weeks under the worst circumstances... and the carefully designed system has eroded into case specific nonsense.
... Maybe it's possible to setup an SCSS compiler to enforce conventions....
And it's also about team communication of course. Even a hardened system will degrade over time if the ideas behind the system are forgotten....
So strange and hilarious to see this. I'm sitting in an office building a few blocks from these places while Jan and Dan are laughing at mundane stuff :)
I'm going to get a cheese sausage hot dog tomorrow.
