@msavo: I think they usually do a pre-purchase discount on steam of 10% on new games, like Skyrim, but as of right now steam and retail price for Skyrim are both $59.99.

Great Interview Patrick, but you forgot to call him an asshole at the end.

Seems Patrick was a bit quick to presume there was an opt out option. Microsoft has directly stated to Kotaku that you can't Opt Out:

Microsoft tells us you in fact cannot opt out of the agreement, and must sign on the dotted line to continue using Xbox Live. The terminology in the ToS used to "opt out" applies only to future changes made after this agreement, they say, not to this agreement itself. They also provided the following statement:

Well that sucks, I hope Patrick updates this article.

@Revan_NL:  Sorry the full quote

"Restoration of Online game-play across the PlayStation®3 (PS3) and PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) systems -This includes titles requiring online verification and downloaded games."

I guess we will see if online verification and downloaded games mean two different things.  I agree that Capcom verification games are so dumb.

" @Nadril: I believe MK requires you to download an online pass, right? If so, these used to be handled by the PS Store. If this is true, you may need to wait for the STORE to come back and won't be able to play MK online even if online multiplayer is restored right now.

(unless, of course, you have already downloaded the online pass on launch day. I guess sometimes it's good to be an early customer...)

The PS Blog posted that you can redeem Online Pass Codes even when the PS Store is not live.  Here is the direct quote

Damn, I really wanted to play LA Noire's multiplayer CTF mode... oh wait.

Can I get about 100% less snark in this article.

@Seppli:  PS3 is the lead platform so I shouldn't be inferior.  Hopefully it will play well on all platforms, can't wait for this game.

@Stonyman65:   You are refering to an old Arstechnica article which was updated.

http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2011/02/report-psn-hacked-showing-stunning-lack-of-credit-card-security.ars

All credit card transactions are sent over a secure line and and the database were encrypted and did not have the 3 digit security code on file.

I actually called both Visa and Mastercard and they told me not to change card numbers because they haven't had a up tick in cc fraud and told me the info was not leaked.  You would think the company that will end paying any illegal charges would want me to change cards, but they didn't.

Also guys, don't cancel your card, get a new number issued and your account remains the same.

Seems like Patrick is a day behind as this rumor has been debunked already (it's dated yesterday).
