I got a qanba q4 and have had zero issues with it. I thought the start button placement would be an problem but I now I kinda of like the convenience of not having to reach over to the back to press start.
I kinda hate the whole change it to Japanese because it sounds better sentiment especially when most people don't even understand what the characters are saying. Jap VO is mostly great but I don't think people should write off Eng Vo so quickly.
