I really hope you got the GTX 690 on a discount, the blu-ray drive for free, and the soundcard for free because all of those are either overkill(the GPU) or not needed(other two). I also hope you're going to do more than just gaming with it cause otherwise you just blew like 5000 dollars. I think paying $1000 for one GPU is just plain stupid but I'm not you. The fact that you bought through Dell doesn't even matter to me. I don't think you'll ever get the value out of that machine at least not the amount of money you put into it.

Yeah, I don't believe in the buying a $1000 GPUs either, for what is currently available gaming-wise, it's definitely not needed. Would have been much cheaper to wait a year or two. I bought a $240 HD7850oc and even then I was wondering whether I paid too much; but that GPU is more than enough to handle today's games.

At least he will slightly future-proof, GPU-wise, but still, I am firmly of the belief of waiting for GPUs to drop in price. $1000 seems like nuts to me.

I always turn them on for games, plenty of times I have missed something in the dialogue and caught it in the subtitles, so for mine it's one of the first settings changes I do.

That said, I never turn them on for films, I don't know why though because you'd think the same would apply.

The Witcher 2, and then Dark Souls. Hell, even Demon's Souls is one you should think about, possibly better than Dark Souls, still haven't made my mind up about that. Skyrim will most probably get you the most mileage though.

I named one of my bows "The Ebony Bow of Funk" - it has shock damage. My 2 handed sword of frost is "Odin Slayer".

It has got to be 'where you grew up', you know, as the saying goes 'you can take the boy out of ...(place city/town/whatever here), but you can't take the ... out of the boy'. I reckon that pretty much sums it up.

I love flicking through the booklets, but that isn't the main reason I still buy CDs. Even though I buy less than I used to, I like the fact of having a physical copy in my hands. And also to support the artists.

I live in Aus, so games are $100 when they come out. This being said, I CANNOT for the life of me find a store selling Catherine for under $70.

Really, dude? I bought Catherine from JB HiFi brand new for $60 when it came out. Pretty sure I have seen it for under $60 recently. Plus there should be pre-owned copies around for under or at around $50.

Dimsey, what state are you in? CPL (Computer Parts Land) have branches in Melbourne and they are pretty helpful. They will also put together your PC (at a price though), but generally their prices are very good as they are basically a warehouse that sells direct to consumers. For anywhere between $1200-1500 they would hook you up with a PC that would destroy those Alienware ones. Check out their site - http://www.cplonline.com.au/

Is there anywhere in Australia I can get the Enhanced Edition on disc? Can't find any retail copies other than version 2, and I don't have enough GB to download the digital EE; it would take two months and that would eat my whole cap limit. Any help? Please?

Eventually, sure, but short of fluking a tournament like Greece did, it would take a generation to develop players and a team like Spain or Germany has. If we made the fundamental changes necessary to how talent is nurtured and made the national game the top priority (this won't happen, because there is way too much money in EPL), starting today, it would still take ~15 years before you started seeing the rewards from that. It's basically too late for anybody who is already older than 10. It's possible - we achieved it with cricket- but it won't just happen. The right conditions have to be put in place to allow it to happen.

Yeah good one, Greece fluked it in 2004... sick of hearing that sort of bullcrap. The very notion of fluking is a one match sort of proposition, not a WHOLE tournament FFS. And by the way, Greece has been in the top 15 in the world for the last decade, and that is with a team of average players and no superstars. So yeah, winning a major tournament with no superstars is more an indication of the team spirit and cohesion in 2004, far from a fluke. Once again, it's pretty hard to "fluke" consecutive games against the world's best back then (France, Portugal-twice, Czechs, etc).
