Just a thought. When i think about the 2017 visual novel that people were passionate about on the internet, it was Doki Doki Literature Club. Dreamdaddy might be more impactful to Vinny & Abby, but saying that Hatoful Boyfriend was the previous 'good' one of those seems wrong.
I hope someone passed along the room and heard Ben scream THE MASTER SWORD RUNS OUT OF POWERR!!!
I think Butterfly Soup is the best one of those, and I'm glad it appeared on some guest lists on the site.
Dan forgot that Pat is Vinny's brother, and thought Vinny just materialized a brother from nowhere, I think that factored into the confusion on Dan's part. But 's all good. This was fun!
I like Jan and all but Vinnie or Jason need to talk to him about how framing works. This is the 2nd video where Ben's head has been cropped off the top of the frame. These game of the year videos deserve more attention to detail than this.
That's the joke. Ben is very tall. It's a good gag.
It's hilarious and I love it, and if you're listening please continue to crop Ben's head.
I'm with Abby, Nier sounds pretty generic too me. Play it randomly, I'd be able to tell you it's JRPG music, but not music from Nier. My top 3 would be Persona 5, Odyssey, Cuphead. All distinct, wonderful and work wonders to enhance the games.
It has a song that's just a children choir singing in a made up language that's a mash-up of Japanese, French and what seems to be Portuguese.
I have no idea how people can say it's generic. Baffling.
But I still enjoyed the whole thing. Don't read any of the comments, Abby. You did well, it was fun! Thankfully, I'm not being recorded for 9 hours a day arguing about video games.
I mean, the way NieR uses music... I can see no other game winning that category this year.
Or... other years actually. A bit hyperbolic perhaps, but It's used in such an unique way, and is so pretty, it's hard to argue when it does something that no other game does. And it does it extremely well.
