There was definitely at least one part in the demo that was a minor change from the original that completely dropped my jaw, so I'm glad they're taking into account that a LOT of people will be coming to this for the 36th time.
Hopefully, they fixed the shooting mechanics from the demo. Looking forward to playing it. But I disagree completely about the Resident Evil 3 remake. It was not forgettable and well done, like a blockbuster action movie. And this is coming from someone who thinks the original RE3 is one of the best games in the series.
It's a real shame about the pricetag and the multiplayer mode that "justified" it being completely abandoned by Capcom within two weeks...
I think about PAXAMANIA a lot, lovely to get a concrete reminder of it.
And of COURSE you weren't banned from Twitter, Elon Musk is a proud supporter of free speech who lets his mob of uninformed fanbois harass people who are critical of him into quitting! For freedom.
@undeadpool: I disagree! I'm loving this series because it digs into what makes the game and the "tech" synonymous. Playing the tech is playing the game. That's what speed running is, and I find it fascinating to see the process of Dan helping Jeff Grubb unfold that in his play style.
I see what you're saying, and it's one reason I've never really "gotten into" watching speedruns, but it's the last sentence I take exception with: because it feels like there IS no "Jeff Grubb's play style," because there's only one play style, and it's the "correct" or "canon" one.
Might just be that this series isn't for me, and that's entirely acceptable at the end of the day.
I love Punch-Out and I like this series but I kind of have the opposite feeling Dan has with speed running it. Seeing the game boiled down to exploitable responses from the AI just doesn't sit right with me.
I'm 100% with you, going from "Beat Tyson any way you can" to "do these exact steps" just feels sterile. I was kinda hoping Grubb would set his own time with his own techniques, then learn the speedrun strats, but I think that's just a problem I have watching speedruns in-general.
They're not really playing the game, they're playing the tech.
Watched Dan set that sub 27 minute run, and my LORD it is truly surreal to watch Dan Ryckert not hot doggin' and grandstandin', just silently do his thing.
Also: We're either missing a part, or this should be 3.
Skies of Arcadia IS a great game, but HOLY FUCKING SHIT, the encounter rate on the original Dreamcast version renders is bordering on unplayable at times.
The re-release toned it down and is by far the better experience.
@mach_go_go_go: I think all you need to understand is that you're raising that kid right.
