Alrite first i know that the whole "this looks just like BAD COMPANY!" has been done to death but the most recent trailer has really frightened me. The beta i thought was not really that similar to bad company but still different enough. The most recent trailer (Fallen Angel) though looks ridiculously like bad company i mean all the weapons in the trailer were weapons that were in bad company 2 and while they did significantly lower the amount of bullets it takes to kill someone (maybe a little too much) everything in that trailer looks like a straight reskin of bad company. The sound effects were the exact same and the knife animation was the same except without the shaky cam. I am not bashing the game and plan to buy it (mostly for the 2 full single player campaigns and the beta code) i also know this game is supposed to be the best of both worlds between COD and Bad Company but i feel like the game needs to have atleast some kind of identity of its own and right now the game has none.  The game looks like it might have an amazing single player campaign but right now the multiplayer doesn't look up to snuff. what do you guys think?

               Alright so i've had my fun, now it is time for some actual blogging. The subject I'd like to talk about here is seemingly every publishers fear of putting out their game this holiday season lest it have to compete with the COD and Halo juggernaut. A slew of games, including Crysis 2, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, SOCOM 4, Rage, (technically Rage was not delayed, but it was certainly expected this holiday season and I'm positive the COD/Halo release had an effect) F.3.A.R*, and Brink have been delayed to Q1 2011 with most of the press releases accompanying these delays flat out stating they delayed it for better market conditions. Pretty much the only game that occupies the same exact target demographic as COD, and to a lesser extent Halo, is Medal of Honor. Medal of Honor is only being released this holiday season because it exists to compete with Call of Duty directly.
             I do not understand why all the publishers are so afraid of releasing their games against COD/Halo. Halo Reach will not be as huge as Halo 3 because the main story arc is complete and their titular character is not present. Master Chief was a huge marketing tool for them and for a lot of people identifies the series to them. Halo: Reach is a fan service, it's plot is there to flesh out the universe and tie up loose ends, the majority of the changes only matter to hardcore fans of the series. I'm in no way saying Halo: Reach won't be success because it will, I'm just saying it won't be a success on the level Halo 3 was. COD: Black Ops on the other hand is sadly for the industry a sure fire hit. COD: Black Ops is also in the same boat as Halo: Reach except the reason for it not being a phenom like its Infinity Ward developed brother is simply because it doesn't say Infinity Ward on the box and will be viewed by alotta people as just more of the same, which it pretty much is. So while both Call of Duty and Halo will be big hits sales wise pretty much no matter what they will not be the sales juggernauts their predecessors were. So originally this holiday would have 2 huge game come out 2 months apart with October, the second half of November, and December clear for other game releases. Mind you the time leading up to December 25 a.k.a the holiday season is traditionally the most profitable for games with people buying a lot of games in this time space. But no apparently every developer and publisher out there making a shooter thinks the masses will simply buy Halo or COD and couldn't be bothered to even think about buying another game till 2011. So they all delayed there games to Q1 2011 where no less than 5 games will be released in 3 months. How any publisher could think this is a better market condition is beyond me. In this release window not only will they have to deal with Killzone 3 they will also have to deal with Gears of War 3 which will be a sales juggernaut on the level of Halo or COD. 
             So they've essentially done nothing to improve their market condition at the time of release because they're releasing it A. at a time people traditionally don't buy as many games and B. You still have to deal with the huge franchise that Gears of War. Publishers just need to realize that the people who will only buy COD or Halo will only buy COD or Halo and thats it no matter what so releasing their games so far away from those games will do little to improve their sales and more to improve those franchises sales because people will want to buy a new game to play and find that their only option is COD or Halo. These are my thoughts on the matter and this concludes another edition of Duder it's a blog!**

Our dear friend Axxol brought up an excellent point, Womens' rights are ridiculous! Women do not have rights, other than the right to make me a sandwich of course, women exist solely to be married and pump out children. Women being allowed to vote is also ridiculous! How would women know who to vote for when all they do is gossip, clean the house, and cook? Women have no knowledge of politics and will simply vote for the most attractive candidate, like that damned John Kennedy, and destroy the political foundations upon which our country exist. The rights of women also should not exist because they cannot be trusted! If you give a women a credit card and ask her to go buy some diapers for the baby while you, the man, smoke your pipe and read your editorials and therefore have no time for petty child care(it is women's work after all) she will return with a myriad of clothes and other necessary things! Women do not deserve rights, the deserve a husband!
