My dad still buys them. I must admit from just glancing at the recent Bethesda ones of fallout and oblivion, that they are organized really well and are of pretty impressive quality in comparison to fumbling with Google searches and unofficial guides.
But lets be honest, games aren't intentionally hard like they were 20 years ago. And there are so many damn people out there playing games that I literally can't remember within the past decade having trouble finding a guide online for an achievement or how to beat a level. Still though, next time you are at the store flip through one of those Bethesda game strategy guides, they are laid out really nicely, and I guess are pretty awesome for people like my dad.
I believe that in the future they will be currency and someone will find the big ass bag of battries in my room while scavenging the wastes of what will be our nuclear apocalyptic world and will be able to buy a new house. I only have around 100 right now, but that is probably just through 2 years of collecting them. Honestly I just want to be the guy that collects something mundane and shows people how cool they think they are because of it.
" Lazy parody films like Scary Movie and the like. I will throw up if I try to watch those. "
I agree, my friend put Epic Move up on the TV as a mean joke, considering we haven't seen one of those since the scary movies, and my body literally went into rejection mode and I consistently started vomiting with no end in sight.
It truly is physically impossibly for me to watch such a horrible mess of film.
