i think vinny's gotten the quality of the DLCs the wrong way round, this one is the (relatively) good one, Pinnacle Station is just like a combat simulator type thing and is generally a complete waste of time.
Also i had to post again just to say, Vinny, all the things you complained about are not actually issues and don't need fixing.
It would make the game more fun for me if some of the things I mentioned were addressed as they are mostly quality of life improvements. It's not my fault you hate my quality of life!
Vinny is wrong. Just about every RPG since the 90s doesn't let attacks go to waste. If the enemy is not where the character just attacks another enemy. This has been a standard thing for over 20 years. In fact, another game on PlayStation that did a similar aesthetic with sprite characters and 3D backgrounds is Grandia and again no attacks went to waste.
I feel like this is something that happened in like the first two Final Fantasy games and then never again.
Wait. Isn't that... what I said? That I was so glad they changed that after the first FF?
As much as I absolutely adore Vinny, this is the one thing that drives me up the wall and it's something he seemingly started doing ever since the move to the East coast.
Just wanted to chime in on this with a relatively uninformed opinion. I think it's some sort of acid reflux or something similar (look at me making unfounded diagnoses). But it's something that I get sometimes as well so can sympathize with Vinny. I can understand how it may be annoying, but I'm doubtful its something he is doing intentionally :)
Wait, what is this? I need to know. Anyone have a timestamp?! Am I ok?!
If I'd sent that book recommendation e-mail (or selected it to be read on the podcast...) I'd be pretty bummed out by Vinny's total rejection of the question. There were two possible approaches to take:
1. Recommend nothing, in which case there is a zero percent chance the question asker gets a book they like.
2. Recommend ANYTHING, in which case there is a ***NONZERO*** percent chance that the question asker gets a book they like.
Even when Abby simplified/focused it he was just like, laughing at the question.
Good episode other than that but...damn.
The idea of name a book without any context seems very strange to me. Also, The Master and Margarita is pretty good.
@humanity: it hasn't really been an issue because the health pickups are plentiful, but I don't believe you get health automatically between fights. At least not between minor fights. Also, I'm pretty sure you get full health if you die and reload and the checkpoints are very generous.
