Ya'll are reading way too much into this. It's a patriotic theme leading up to July 4th when we celebrate independence, which has nothing to do with the current government. Poor politics or administration don't mean we're going to suddenly stop celebrating an historical American holiday. It's a lighthearted theme.
If it upsets you because of the current state of the country, don't watch. They're not making political statements.
Anyway, just because bigots use patriotic symbolism vocally for their agenda doesn't mean that's patriotism can't be used to celebrate the proper ideals of this country.
This is the correct way to look at it. GB has spoken about their dislike of the current administration and state of affairs in the country. You can still be patriotic about your country while despising those in charge. It was a goofy video with nothing out-of-line said in the slightest.
I agree. I'm not a patriotic person myself but some of the criticism to this feels like a huge overreaction.
I wonder if they'll talk about cultural appropriation in regards to Mario Odyssey. I saw some people complaining about him wearing a poncho and sombrero! We can't have that.
