Had the exact same thought. No matter how annoying the pop up is I'd rather that then the space bar incident.

The can mascot actually cracking himself open (with sound effect) to shoot lasers was amazing. I sort of want to play this game now.

I liked Dead Cells a lot, but I will say it is easy to burn out on it, so if there's any risk you binge it and stop playing before it comes out of EA I would hold off. Yes I got 30 hours out of it, but I suspect I'd have enjoyed it more waiting and playing the final version.

I'm surprised so many people are shocked by Jeff's placement of Nier. I knew it had to be at least top 3 the way he's talked about it on the last few podcasts. Playing through the game now (I'm early in route B, like... just got to the camp early) and it really is a game you either love or you hate, there's very little in the middle.

First, this is a good list. Second if you think Teddy's writing is interesting, check out this video from his GDC talk this year, it is amazing.

If you like either of the previous Xenoblade games, I would be surprised if you don't like 2 (I did complete the main story and put over 100 hours in it, which considering it came out Dec 1 is insane...)

I really need to play through Gorogoa myself, saw some of it and it looks utterly entrancing and beautiful.

Glad to see someone on staff give Xenoblade props, at someone who already put over 100 hours into it.
