Nothing gets my board game snobbery going like Catan. I've got a large group of friends who swear by it regardless of the fact that there is basically 1 winning strategy and a bunch of luck. Moreover, they refuse to play anything else even though there are 100s of other Euro games that take elements of Catan and do them a million times better. Listen, like what you want to like, I won't judge you for it, but come on, the world of board games is a large one and people do themselves a disservice for not checking out more games!
Let's face it, Titanfall was a bit of a money pit for Respawn. While people seemed to love it (myself included) it just didn't perform that well. That said, Respawn made a smart choice with this game because they knew they could make money if they applied all of their knowledge to the hot new thing in the industry. The way I look at it, this game could create enough revenue to allow Respawn to make the Titanfall 3 everyone here seems to want without as much consequence.
At least it seems a little less insufferable than weed leaf sights and crude emotes, but like, you don't have to be Fortnite or Overwatch.
The problem is that you actually do if you want to succeed. It attracts both new people and hardcore people because there's a loot loop that appeals to both audiences.
This is honestly the best gaming surprise I've had in quite sometime. Even though a little leaked out ahead of time, I never expected it to look this awesome.
This went from "that looks pretty cool, I'll have to check it out" to, "Oh man, I need this." I was genuinely worried with early impressions that there wasn't going to be a whole lot to this but this looks like an amazing package. Great work!
I honestly didn't think I needed a redesign until I watched this. This is legitimately fantastic and I can't wait to use it full time. Huge props to the engineering team for pulling this off.
My favorite content this year by a long shot. It was a great reminder of just why I want to visit Denmark sometime (originally became interested because of the band Efterklang and how they praised it so much).
Whenever Peter Brown and Mike Mahardy are on, I always feel like they belong somewhere other than Gamespot. Their talent and knowledge goes well beyond the new "entertainment focused" style Gamespot seems to focus on these days. That said, there are very few places that could provide a suitable platform for what they do. I guess what I'm actually saying is that they should join Giant Bomb. Let's get Danny and Mary in there too!
