I put about 5 hours into the beta and I enjoyed my time with it but as mentioned in the video, you can tell this game has a free to play vibe all over it. I honestly think they probably should have gone that route because launch sales numbers for the game are abysmal. This is a pretty solid title that's going to be a sad story in a month.
Even though he's been here for as long as he has, I am still completely baffled by Dan's food problems. How on earth does he not know how to boil or grill something! I genuinely hope his wife domesticates him in the coming years.
Crazy that of all games, he played Ora Et Labora! That game has been out of print for quite awhile and is kind of great, but if you're not big into Euro strategy games, of course it seems overwhelming. Ben said that he wishes games weren't getting so complex but honestly, there are so many great quick and easy to play games in the "hobby world" of board gaming. If you're reading Ben, hit me up and I'll recommend you some great stuff that you'd enjoy! Congrats on making it through though.... that's definitely not the game to play if everyone is new and are learning as you go.
Ben is such an awesome addition. He's very knowledgeable about the fight game scene (sorry Jason), has good taste in games, and is genuinely funny/ lovable. Welcome to the team!
Totally agree with this and being a fan of the Thumbs podcast, I know that they don't play the variety of games GB does due to time constraints, etc. The guys hardly knew much of anything about Horizon on their own podcast and you kind of just have to say, "okay, not everyone in the industry is glued to games and games media and that's alright."
All of that said, I wanted to skip the Zelda stuff myself but I wasn't quite as annoyed as some other people here.
I'm with most of you that the Zelda talk has gotten to a point where nothing new arises. It's not going deeper, it's mostly talk about what it means for the series, for nintendo, how the systems all interact with eachother and how the game fits in regards to other open world games.
That said, when Brad invites guests and they only played Zelda, I'm not going to expect him to be like 'yo.. we have talked about that for a month already, so how about we don't talk about this thing' . Especially when the guests tell the host that Zelda is pretty much all that they're thinking of. When you have to invite guests on a weekly basis to keep the podcast going, the same Zelda stories are naturally going to be repeated.
The beastcast has a more stable lineup right now, so they know what has been discussed on the show and can therefore move on from Zelda since everything has been said already, and everyone is aware of that.
I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the limited enemy variety in the game though. Then again, Skyrim had the same problem.
Rorie, holy s*#^! He just bought this incredibly expensive game and you're just flailing the case around! I could see the murder in Peter's eyes at that moment.
Another week, another strange hum throughout the entire show. It sounds like loud vents or something similar but I feel like there has to be something they can do about it!
I'm so glad they figured out what the "pinwheels" were. I was basically yelling at my screen saying, "How do you not know that is coming from your gun!?" Haha.
