I cannot tolerate the way that Brad refuses to ever let a negative thing be said about RDR2. His stubborn ignorance of the flaws of that game is infuriating.

I felt he was completely intolerant of anything said that didn't agree with RDR2 being a completely transcendent experience.

Watching this at the Most Disappointing and I'm not sure how anyone could have been disappointed by Fallout 76 - based on the trailers and information known ahead of time.

It seemed pretty clear to me (as a TES and Fallout fan) that 76 was going to be terrible.

I also don't quite understand Brad and Alex's approach to this, or how a vote doesn't count. 5 people say (as of now in my watching) that Red Dead should be, and 4 people say it shouldn't.

FWIW - I have no desire to play a western, so Red Dead isn't something I'd ever care about. But Fallout 76 was clearly going to be bad from day 1, so I'm not sure how it could really be that disappointing. Hoping something will be good despite the evidence implying it won't isn't the game disappointing you, but you disappointing you (Abby and Ben).

I thought this was pretty bad. Overacted way too hard to make it not funny.

Is it weird that I nearly platinum'd Demon's Souls (world tendancy and a single drop I had trouble getting to drop stopped me) and DID platinum Bloodbourne, but found Dark Souls a bit meh, and never finished it (got about 50% through).

Cool, weird idea for a game.

I'm definitely in the camp that the player's views was much more interesting than the "play as sniper" view. I couldn't really figure anything out (as to what the game is) from the faux sniper view, but they used the player views it started to click.

@bawalo: Yeah, I got about 9 mins in and had to go to another video. He's excited and talking a thousand miles per hour (god knows Ive been there). It's on Brad to rein it in and get some focus.

Thanks for both saying the very reason I had to stop watching at the 15 minute mark.

About 15 minutes for me, too. Just couldn't listen to him anymore.

Jeff Gerstmann, Pessimist. Can always find something to not like about games that most people enjoy, and focus on those with laser-like precision..

Nah, if anything there should be more people like Jeff who don't overlook horrible things just cause the game is fun. That very attitude is what got us into micro-transations and lootbox hell.

Jeff is the main reason I still listen/watch Giantbomb. Pessimist isn't the word I would use at all to describe him. Honest, direct and a little bit jaded, maybe. It's not really pessimistic to describe a bad thing as bad, is it?

His criticisms are definitely the ones I will pay attention to the most when it comes to the crew talking about any game, even when it's a game I really like and he seems a bit down on it (because I have different tastes than him in the kinds of games I enjoy).

Listening to this was a little bit annoying at times.

Particularly the Dream Daddy and Nier debates.

I'm very surprised a game that only 2 of the 7 people actually stuck with (without being prodded by others to get by the crappy parts) ended up so high. But then I fell off of Nier after 6 hours (according to Steam) because playing it was so BORING. And by playing I mean the parts in between set piece scenes. One of the worst worlds to run around in I think I've ever come across. And I never really thought about Abby's point on the sexist stuff.

With regards to Dream Daddy - I'm in the camp that doesn't really see Walking Simulators/Visual Novels as "games". But that's mostly because they are 95% (or more) only story, and I don't think games, in general, ever have a good story. At best, they almost touch the level of B-tier made for TV Syfy channel movies in story quality. With very few exceptions. And those exceptions would be better as movies than games (because they often have terrible gameplay). I love video games, and I love The Walking Dead, but the Telltale games are things that aren't worth my time playing - even when free.

Also - only 2 people even seemed to like Dream Daddy (while Nier at least had Brad, Jeff and Vinny stick with it even when they didn't want to, because others told them that it would eventually get better).

I don't see how people could even question PUBG's inclusion here. I don't like shooters. Haven't really played one since MW3. And I definitely never had any interest in playing Arma mods, but PUBG gave me the most memorable gaming experiences that I've had since Demon Souls. In gaming terms, it easily has the "best world" because the world is populated by other people, not AI. And the rules are incredibly simple (last man standing - talking solo games here). I still remember all 6 kills from my first Chicken Dinner (including my Dan move of driving over a hill down to an apartment complex and seeing a guy running towards it - so I ran him over and looted the sniper rifle and 8x scope that netted me my 3rd and 2nd to last kills).

Very few "story moments" I've experienced in gaming are even close to that memorable (mostly Bioware games pre ME3 - KotOR, ME1, ME2 Mordin, etc). And gameplay moments that memorable are almost only from single player games (Souls games, weird things that happen in Crusader Kings, incredible upsets in Football Manager, sailing around in Black Flag - the story in that game was awful - but sailing the seas was amazing). The only multiplayer games that have given me moments like that are back when I played MMO's (first time boss kills in WoW and the first time I hit a 200 XP chain pulling in FFXI as BRD/NIN stand out).

And PUBG had more influence on the gaming industry before hitting 1.0 than both Nier and Zelda 2017 will likely have combined.

Anyways, interesting listen, but very frustrating at times (especially Alex on Nier, Abby and Dan on Dream Daddy, and Abby on Cuphead near the end. "I think Cuphead should be higher").

Abby is a great host.

Dan is hilarious.

I still don't quite understand the point of the Monster Dating game. It wasn't fun to watch either time.

Do people really believe that Dan is an abusive co-worker and FORCING the others to eat/drink weird stuff? And that it's harmful to them? Really?

This is entertainment. Not a sneak peek into their everyday work environment. Dan isn't their evil boss forcing them to do things or be fired or anything.

It would be one thing to state that you don't find Dan funny (I do). But some people seem to think the others are totally under his control and are constantly being forced to do things they really don't want to. If they really didn't want to, they wouldn't.
