Frostbite 3 looks pretty good. I wonder if frame rate or latency will be an issue on the next gen versions with increased player counts and destructible environments. It looks very fluid from the footage.

The last heist is easily the best (if you are where I think you are, they've already alluded to "the big score"). I agree - too few heists, easily the most fun missions in the game because of the set-up. Those missions were what I wanted out of the Payday games. Hopefully the DLC will be all or mostly heists - tbh, I don't have a lot of confidence GTA Online will include more of them. Rockstar multiplayer modes haven't been the most compelling because of the way the shooting works in all of their games and I doubt they would improve even if they add online heist missions.

I appreciate friendly duders playing Dota with a mic, but don't use one myself. It's been kind of an explicit policy since Halo 2 days that, unless it is with friends, I will never plug in my mic to speak/listen to other players. A lot of really hateful, racist, homophobic, sexist, etc. comments come in with team games and I'm not interested in having that in my ear.

Also, and I don't know if this has been anyone else's experience, but the chatter in pub games (mic or otherwise) devolves into telling how much everyone else sucks or is in Portuguese or Russian. Telling people they suck is not useful for anyone :(

Spent $45. The only game I wanted but held back on was Stardrive. I'll play anything other than what seems like a half-baked game.

This honestly makes me kinda glad I haven't backed any games on Kickstarter, but have purchased some KS-funded games after their main release. As easy as it is to say "Paid by fans, made for fans", there is a real risk the dev may squander everything before shipping a product.

I wonder if this will lead to DF being the first thing that pushes KS off a cliff. Big stakes.

@MonetaryDread: Locking the frame rate at 30 made the issue worse, unfortunately. Weird that newer cards are the laggier ones.

Just tried reinstalling, same issue. I have the same issue actually with Spec Ops: The Line and Witcher 2, which leads me to believe it might be a DirectX thing? Weirdly, it doesn't impact similar third-person or first-person games like Dead Space or Hitman or more demanding games like XCOM. It's a mystery to me.

Le sigh. I guess I'll wait for another patch for the frame rate/stuttering to improve on my end. Bumping down drivers didn't work, messing with the AA settings didn't work, editing the XML didn't work...the magic of PC gaming! Thanks anyway, everyone!

It took me a painfully slow hour to get from the opening cut scene of Wei running away from the cops to Jackie talking to you in the Night Market :/
