Seem to be having trouble with this game getting very frame-y and can't determine what it is. I'm basically running Jeff's machine (that Will Smith built) upgraded with a GTX 670 card, 8GB Ram, Core i5 2500K, and am updated to the latest drivers. Futzing with the settings doesn't seem to help much, unless I'm missing something - I've even changed the AA in the Nvidia control panel to 8x and it still doesn't help.
The menu when I load up seems fine, but once gameplay/cutscenes start, it slows down to barely playable levels. I played this game on the PS3 originally and wasn't expecting this with the PC version :/
FWIW, journalism in other industries or even what is considered mainstream journalism isn't much better: saw a lot of dumb shenanigans this year. That doesn't excuse games journalism, it is just (unfortunately) becoming the standard.
I regret not picking up Xenoblade Chronicles when it was first available! Will have to seek it out on your recommendation.
Serious question though, because I know you're the person I see who contributes a lot to the Dynasty Warriors pages in the wiki, what are your thoughts on Warriors Orochi 3? I considered getting the WiiU version when I bought my WiiU, but opted for the 360 version. They've really honed some of the systems found in the earlier Orochi games.
Would these people feel different if, let's say, an Activision or EA went this route with the Humble Bundle? Cheap games are cheap games and however you divide your donation, a great charity will still benefit.
@Hailinel: I used the clip in my P4G case to hold my pre-order "bonus" card with the website of Vita screensavers. But yeah, it's kind of a weird decision to have them in there if there are no manuals.
I'm with you on the not having digital copies thing - if those servers get fucked, or Sony decides to revoke your access/rights to games you purchased, no more games. Happens every once on a while with Amazon and Kindle books. And it would be one thing if digital distribution was a thing and proprietary memory wasn't an issue too - those Vita cards are not cheap. Should have just gone with more standard storage (or better yet, allow us to connect USB drives). Jeff is right: if someone makes you think about memory management instead of games, someone has messed up.
Just curious for anyone who has tried this at a Best Buy - when I went to the demo unit there, it only played videos...no actual gameplay. Can you actually demo a game?
The controller felt surprisingly great and light! But the console itself....is so long? Interesting design on the thing, for sure. For me, if the games get there eventually (as I think they did eventually on the 3DS), I'll buy it down the line. But I'm worried the WiiU is going to be Nintendo's Vita.
