Good Point. The DLC costs the same amount of points for Xbox Live. On PC you buy Bioware points. I guess is EA's fault as much as Microsoft. They probably kept the same amounts to make it simpler, while making it fraking unfair and arbitrary. So agreed, lets include EA but lets not reduce MS responsability.

So I found out today that the new Shadow broker DLC is out, a bit late to the party I know but still very exciting. I went to my friendly Bioware social site to purchase the DLC on PC and... oh yes, I forgot about the point scheme that Bioware has implemented for Mass Effect 2, which is I'm sure some kind of imposition from Microsoft as it is designed the same way the Xbox points work.

Well, I decided to purchase the Shadow Broker DLC  (800 points - $10)  and the Overlord Pack (560 points - $7) as well, which is one that I wanted to play too. I can buy 400 ($5) points, 800 ($10), 1200 ($15) and 1600 ($20).  I can also buy 560 ($7) if I only buy the Overlord Pack. I have 80 points as a left over from a previous purchase. There is no way I can use those 80 points. No matter how I combine it. So I would have to again buy points, get the DLC and leave some points floating.

This is what happened the last time I purchased DLC and I wont do it again. So I've decided NOT to buy the Overlord Pack and so Microsoft and Bioware loose the chance to get my money. This point thing is ridiculous and although I'm sure Microsoft will never let it go, I just hope Sony kicks their ass eventually and forces them to shift their ways. Unlikely but one can dream...

I really enjoy the feeling that everyone can get a piece of the Giantbomb cake and I've always wanted to contribute to the independent way in which GB works.

I'm glad I can do that now so I would suggest that any benefit they come up with is more in the line of aesthetics and less about splitting the community. Kind of when you get  a new helmet in a game. It brings no advantage but just makes you look cooler.

STALKER: Call of Pripyat... I loved Shadows of Chernobyl but this one fails to grab my interest in the same way. It's good that it only cost me $10. I guess at that price I should't be so picky, the game does have a good chunk of content. I just expected them to take the franchise in a new direction. It's just more of the same.

I agree that content has diminished a bit in the video department. I like having trailers but honestly, GB has never been about the trailers or the regular type of marketing for games.

For me GB is about the gaming culture and the celebration of being a gamer. A couple of guys making ridiculous stuff that I would love to be doing myself but cant.

Hopefully in the future this will increase and be taken even further.

I chipped in and subscribed for the monthly fee. Hopefully we'll get to 5000 and help those that can't pay get their fill of the Bombcast just like before.

I gotta say I don't like it being divided but I always said that I would support with $$ given the chance and it was time to put my money where my yaper is.

Im not to sure Blizzard is really interesting in changing the current features that much. Maybe for the next expansion.

I really loved this. I think it should be a new feature. It could give us an insight into the process of playing games from the point of view of the reviewer. Good stuff.
