These Vinny and Brad kids seem pretty cool, they should get them on again.

This was a ton of fun, thanks for making it happen - and Alex B was great too, for the record, but of course great to see the Nextlander crew hanging out. Vinny's "incorrect wrestling catchphrases" bit had me cracking up two minutes in.

I'm very out of the loop on a lot of the wrestling at the moment, though I've caught some of the highlights outta AEW at least. But I couldn't be happier to see this show return, because listening to people talk about wrestling might be even better than actually watching it.

That new opening music slaps, the new graphics pop, and I'm glad Grubb kept his intro catchphrase because it's a personal favourite of mine.

I appreciate all the up-front chat, as someone who's been with the site since day one (well, maybe more like day three but y'know) and a premium sub almost as long as that's been a thing I'm very happy to continue my support for the new team! Honestly with how the likes of YT, Twitch, and Patreon work nowadays this brings it more in line with that style of 'the main content is free for everyone, but you can pay to support us and get some fun additional bonuses & behind the scenes treats.'

Checking out the Discord - I've been in there a long time (since before it was 'official' I think) but I've generally just poked my head in, some of the behind the scenes stuff there is super cool to see so far! I'm curious too see what the future tiers of subscription offer, but for now I'm very content with everything going on. And again, to reiterate - appreciate all the clarity around this!

Event vlogs bring joy to my heart, and this is a great team for the job <3

Shame we couldn't get the whole crew on site, but... soon. We'll get there, eventually.

Thanks for putting this together, Jan, Lucy, and Tam!

It was fun trying to remember sites I haven't thought about in 15+ years.

notpron.com was one that you guys reminded me of, that was a weird sort of puzzle site that gets harder and harder. surprisingly its still live!

also, newgrounds games. terrible newgrounds games.

Damn, I remember spending so much time trying to puzzle out notpr0n with friends during our breaktimes at school. That shit was so much fun, and actually an interesting introduction to starting to understand the way websites were put together.

I've always been able to handle the Borderlands writing, but it's always been very hit-or-miss. I think the biggest issue, especially by the time B3 came along, is that they became more confident that everything they were writing was the funniest shit to the point where almost every other line is trying to be funny, and it's more constantly in your face, and it makes it all the more noticeable when it's not landing.

That said, I've always enjoyed how these play, and they're a fun game to co-op in. I'd like to see a little more from the late game (I'm very curious if you do get additional skill trees as you get further in, I seem to recall them talking about cross-classing at some point too), but I think I'm probably on board with this from what I've seen so far.

I love the tone of Stranger of Paradise. I get why some people don't, but it's putting the biggest grin on my face. This dumb chaos-hating MFer makes friends with some random dudes over their vibrating eggs, and interrupts elaborate monologues because he doesn't give a damn about the details (saw someone online said "he's hitting the 'skip cutscene' button himself"). For what it is I think they kinda nailed exactly the approach it needed. FF1's story is a very simple old-school tale, trying to adapt that into a rich narrative would require a lot of added detail, so instead they leant into the silly simplicity of it. I'll take that over them trying to be too serious about it.
