Dragon Ball Advanced Adventure for the GBA is a pretty fantastic adaptation of OG DB. The platforming and beat-em-up segments are fast and fluid, it has a pretty good 1-on-1 fighting game built-in (used in the Story Mode during certain boss battles, and as a separate mode), and it has a bunch of unlockables in the post-game Extra Mode.

For DBZ in particular, I might say Legacy of Goku II. It fixed a lot of issues from the first game, had a good sense of humor about the world of DBZ, and was, overall, a great Zelda-esque adaptation of the Android/Cell saga. The sequel Buu's Fury is good too, but I'd still put II over it, as BF is weighed down by the baggage from adapting the Buu Saga.

(Of course the real best one is Jump Ultimate Stars for the DS, but that wouldn't count, since it's not exclusively focused on DBZ. Huge roster, tons of unlocks, a great fighting system, and overall an excellent love letter to the Jump universe. Probably the only Smash-like that manages to surpass Smash (or at least comes very close).)

@zmcgrew: I had the same problem using Doggcatcher, but I was able to use a workaround. Apparently, the Doggcatcher devs recently changed the way it handles https, which broke the feed updates for some sites. (Changelog from the Play Store page: "1.2.5254 Use new http library by default, can be disabled in advanced settings; 1.2.5253 Fix: some feeds that use https fail with an ssl handshake exception(in order to enable this, please go into DC's advanced settings and enable experimental http library)")

The solution right now is to re-enable the old http library. You can do this by going into Doggcatcher's Settings -> Advanced -> Legacy HTTP library [Enable]

Try to update feeds again after enabling it, and it should work this time.

EDIT: Disregard the above advice. The dev of Doggcatcher pushed an update on Wednesday (on the Play Store) that fixed the issue with the new HTTP Library. So, no need to enable the legacy library for GB feeds.

It's too bad. Besides running the Indie Royale bundles (Which had some pretty nice games for the first year or two), Desura implemented some interesting features long before they appeared on Steam; namely, alphafunding (Early Access), a strong Indie focus, and Mod Integration (Due to Desura originally being an offshoot of ModDB). Their profit potential was extremely low for developers, and it sounds like the patching process was a pain, but they still made it pretty easy for devs to distribute Steam keys to existing customers through Indie Royale/Desura.

That last part is what's going prevent this from being a clean shutdown. Many devs going through Greenlight promised Steam keys for existing owners, whether they own it via IR bundle or Desura. Not only will this shutdown destroy a simple method (for both devs and customers) to distribute the keys, but it'll likely make it extremely difficult, if not impossible, for devs to properly verify existing owners, since they will not have access to any Desura/IR purchase records.

LBX reminds me of that Custom Robo game, where you could build robots and battle in Virtual-On-style arenas. Hope it's good.
