A frustrating and disappointing experience that discredits the franchise. 0

Mario and Luigi Paper Jam is a bad game. Not bad in the sense that it is broken or unplayable, but in the way where the gameplay mechanics, story, and the overall experience are sub-par. If this game was its own thing with an unique IP and such, this wouldn't matter as much. But since it is a Mario and Luigi game, a certain level of quality is expected. There are some major problems with the gameplay in this game, and their workarounds for them should have been seen as a red flag to the design t...

In the Shadowrun universe fantasy meets technology and the result is pretty good. 0

Shadowrun: Dragonfall is the expansion to Shadowrun: Returns. And for the most part they share the same core mechanics, with Dragonfall having a few improvements to UI, party management, and overall level design. So if you didn't like Returns, than you are not going to like Dragonfall either. On the other hand, if you only kind of enjoy Returns, or thought it was below average than you'll enjoy Dragonfall due to its improvements.Dragonfall has a lot of the same things going for it that Returns ...

If you like stabbing Orcs, than I have a game for you. 0

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is a great combat game, it does some game aspects really well, however, it does other game elements poorly. After all the hype the game got, I was really looking forward to it, and while I did enjoy it (and I am recommending it), I often found myself disappointed with the game at the same time. On the positive side, the game's graphics are great, and if you can run it, they can become even better (HD content patch). Normally graphics don't influence my opinions on...

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West is a nice game, and it is worth getting if you can get it, and its DLC, on sale. 0

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West is a nice game, and it is worth getting if you can get it, and its DLC, on sale. Enslaved is a above average game, it isn't going to change your views on action adventure, or make you obsess with the source material (it is a reimaging of Journey to the West). But it is a fun experience that is easy to get into. The main thing holding this title back is that for everything that it does right, it also kind of does it wrong. Starting off the story for the game is a mix...

F.E.A.R. 3: Cheap thrills that don't fulfill 0

F.E.A.R. 3 is an average, and unremarkable, horror first person shooter. If you have ever played a fps then you'll be familiar will everything that F.E.A.R. 3 has to offer, if you have never played a fps before... well that kind of odd and remarkable, and you probably shouldn't have your first fps experience with F.E.A.R. 3. This isn't to suggest that F.E.A.R. 3 is a bad game, but more to the fact that the game lacks polish. It has some nice things going for it, the campaign gameplay varies enou...

Batman: Arkham Origins: A face punching simulator 0

Batman: Arkham Origins is an action adventure game in which the player glides around the city of Gotham and stops crimes by repeatedly punching dudes in the face. It is the third main game in the Batman Arkham series, and is the weakest out of the three. That isn't to say that the game isn't fun, but just that it has issues that the user should be aware of before they decide to play it or not.The biggest issue with this game, is the fact that while it is a Batman game, it doesn't feel like you a...

Wasteland 2: sometimes the past should stay in the past 0

Wasteland 2 is a game that I really wanted to like, even though, it isn't a good game. I am sure that sounds confusing, so I'll explain what I mean.To start off, I should mention that I really enjoyed Fallout 1 and 2 (am going to assume that you know what they are since you are looking at a wasteland 2 review, if for some reason you don't, you should spend a little time and look them up), and for the most part Wasteland 2 feels like it could be a direct sequel to those games. And that is one of ...

An average first person shooter that is nothing more than the sum 1

What does it take to make a good game? Do you simply need a collection of good elements, like visuals, story, and gameplay mechanics? Battlefield 3 tries to prove this to be true by just having these parts, since they believe that this what it takes make a game good. However, they are wrong, and it is because of this focus on individual segments that Battlefield 3 fails to live up to its potential or its competition. Visually the game look great, it is one, if not the best, looking game currentl...

A decent video game that could have been an amazing movie. 0

This is going to sound odd, but I think Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception would have been better as a movie than as a video game. I am not trying to say it is a bad game, it is actually good, but it is more of the fact that the experience is extremely guided to the point where they might as well have taken away the controller from the user. The story tries to capture an epic feeling, like what the previous Uncharted games had, but falls short which results in a jumbo of plot points that don't get f...

Very little gets revealed in Revelations 2

Let's get this out of the way at the start, Assassin's Creed: Revelations is filler, nothing significant happens in it that a fan of the series needs to see. However, that isn't to say that the game is bad, but it is below average. Despite the title, very little gets revealed during this game. Mostly it just repeats the already known main points of the series' story line. The game controls about the same as it did in the last title in the series, which is to say that it works correctly about 70 ...

Batman is back, but this time things will be the same... I mean d 0

This sums up the game fairly wellDo you like punching people in the face? How about wearing a costume? If you answer yes to either of these questions, then Batman: Arkham City might be for you. The game Batman: Arkham City is the sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum and this time around things have changed slightly. For starters the environment is now a semi-open world, open area but most buildings are inaccessible, with numerous side missions and Riddler objectives. Interactions with hostile NPCs th...

A big budget pop corn action movie in video game form 0

Have you ever wanted to play a big budget pop corn action movie in video game form? If so then Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is for you. On the other hand, if you wanted a great first person shooter, then you might want to look elsewhere. This is not to imply that there aren't great things about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, like it's scenarios, and graphics, it is just that the other aspects of the game, such as the story, and game play, are below average and bring the overall experience dow...

A Grandiose Adventure 0

There nothing quite like having a free falling shoot out.Grandiose, many games try to capture this feeling, but few actually can pull it off. Saints Row the Third is one of the few titles that can. And it is not just because it has the player going through scenarios where they are sky diving through a plane or they are being gangsters in space. It is the fact that these situations work well and fit correctly into the game itself, making it a better experience by being there. While other games ei...

A fun spy RPG, with a few issues 0

Do you like cheesy spy movies, how about 'Burn Notice', or the RPG-lite elements in Mass Effect? If you answered yes to any, or all of these then you might also like Alpha Protocol. Alpha Protocol is a third person-RPG-shooter that places a focus on stealth and dialogue choices. There quite a bit of fun to be have with this game, even though, it has a few technical issues.Nothing to see here, just us trash cans.In Alpha Protocol you play as Michael Thorton, not to be confused with Michael Westen...

Who are you trying to save, in a world without a soul? 1

Who are you trying to save, in a world without a soul? This was the question I asked myself repeatedly, while I played through Final Fantasy 13. Final Fantasy 13 is the latest single player game in the series by Square-Enix. It offers a more streamline experience from past entries in the series, however, more often than not, this streamlining is harmful. The game hits the usual high marks for graphics, in certain areas, but stumbles with story and controls.I don't want to wait for our lives to b...

Despite some flaws, Final Fantasy 12 is a great game. 0

Final Fantasy 12 is the latest console Final Fantasy game. And as the latest Final Fantasy (on a console), it tries to takes the series in a new direction. And for the most part this is a good thing, however, there are many flaws in the game that prevent it from becoming a great game. The story while great in parts is dull at other parts. The game’s combat system appears to be new, but really isn’t that different from what was there before.Final Fantasy 12 takes place in Ivalice the world from t...
