Rags to Riches Guide
Everyone who is new to Project Ion will start empty handed but you free to go everywhere you want. You will be able to find a lot of natural resources that you could sell to other players or at the pawnshop in Babylon city. Because you have no weapons and tools it is wise to stay away from hostile creatures that walk around. A lot of area's are free from creatures so you pretty much save to walk around freely.
Hemp Plants
Hemp plants are found everywhere.
A trained eye will be able to spot them from a great distance.
Wood Stacks
Just like hemp you will be able to find the stacks of wood everywhere.
Robust as these stacks are it will not be hard to spot them.
After you have collected enough resources and sold them to other players or to the pawnshop, you could go to Travelers point. There you will be able to use the Dinars to acquire standard tools and consumables at mister Quick Fix.
Take in account that you will also be able to buy stuff from the pawnshop, sometimes even offering better items and consumables than mister Quick fix has. Be sure to check it out regularly!
Assuming you buy standard tools, it would be wise to find some friends and team up and focus on some more exclusive places. At the rig's and the robot space ship you will be able to find more resources.
The Rigs
At the rigs, you can find both oil barrels and uranium barrels. Because this area's are dangerous places where you can be killed by players and creatures it would not be the best place to be without any means of defense.
Treasures
Treasures are found on special places in the game. Just like the rig it are places you can be killed by other players or creatures.
The so called robot space ship north west from Zion is one of the places you will be able to find treasures. Besides this guide to get on track you will find very helpful community members around inside the project.
Mister QuickFix
Mister QuickFix supplies the standard equipment and consumables inside Project Ion.
The only place Mister QuickFix is found so far is at Travelers point.
The Pwnshop
The Pwnshop is the place to convert your items to Project Ion Dinars.
Besides selling your items to the Pawnshop you are also able to buy items from the pawnshop.
Check out the pawnshop regular to find neat items sold by other pioneers.
We can find the Pawnshop in Babylon Citadel.
Their is a deduction from 5% on the value for your items sold at the Pawnshop.
When you buy something you will pay additional 5% on the item value bought.
Crafting
Crafting will be a major profession in this resources based economy.
You need to have your resources in your inventory at all times to work with them.
The process for crafting consist of three main steps so far.
Alchemy - refining materials
Almost all natural resources can be refined at the Alchemy NPC.
Simply put in the desired material to see what you can do with it.
Some materials can be combined after they are refined to make by example alloy's, plastic and paper.
Component - crafting components
Refined resources are used at the component NPC to create a diverse range of components.
When you place your refined resources you will be able to see all possible components you can create with them.
When a component needs more than one resource it will automatically show the other materials needed along with the amounts for each session.
While some sessions create a single component other sessions will create a multiple of components.
Assembly - assembled items
Workbenches offer you the room to assemble your components into usable items.
Just as with components you just place the desired component you want to work with and it will automatically show all possible items you can assemble with your current inventory.
Notice that some items are assembled one at a time while others are assembled in a multiple amount.
