Not related to the question, but I like that Quick Time Event is one of the last common game industry phrases that came from Japan; if a native English speaker had named it then it would be called something else entirely, but instead QTE is what we’re using.

Huh. I've always pronounced it "Obnoxious Thing I Always Turn Off If There's an Option."

Quicktime event. I don't distinguish my time events based on speed.

An element of gameplay that spontaneously asks the player to select a series of either, button presses and/or analog stick movements (as well as the equivalents to mouse and keyboard controls) in rapid succession: Either "quick time event" or simply "QTE (pronounced cue tee ees)".

The media player developed by Apple Inc. of which the video editing program known currently as Vegas Pro still uses in order to render videos in the .mp4 format: QuickTime.

@bisonhero: I did think after posting that i should have had a funny third option called "Fast Button Check" or something.

I mean, I've always just said 'QTE' but now you've made that connection to QuickTime... man. I think I'll start using that.

I bought QuickTime Pro. Why? I dunno. I've also bought WinRAR. I'm an idiot.

(pushes up glasses) Well technically it's a "Quick Timer Event" as described in Shenmue even though no one calls it that
