Too much Mexico, not enough indians (not at all, actually)...
Call of Juarez 2 almost pulled it off, but it ended up feeling kinda meh, but i applaud their amazing attempt. RDR should've had some Running Water or Buffalo Diarrhea instead of Reyes and Louisa..
WTF amirite ?

Severe lack of Native Americans ?
" I don't know my American history, but the game takes place in 1910 or something. At that point I'm pretty sure the whole "Cowboys and Indians" thing was dying. Correct me if I'm wrong. "That's what I'd say too. It almost makes me wonder if they set the game so late so they wouldn't have to deal with the issue.
I've beaten the game, my good man, thats why i said "not enough indians"" Have you unlocked West Elizabeth yet? "

I understand, but im sure some of them still existed in tribes or something.. im not the most knowledgeable man of American History in the world, but i think they could've figured something out.." It's 1911, isn't it a bit late for Native Americans? "

" Dutchs gang has aplenty of them, I thought. "
I think the 1911 setting of the game showed the Native American's as a dying breed as they were pushed further away. Having them wear predominantly settler style clothes and wielding guns were particularly telling of their culture in disarray and the changing landscape that fit in with the game's motif.
SPOILER ALERT !!! (can't make the spoiler box working...)
At the end of the game, the junkie author McDougal sets up a meeting with some native americans. They turn out to be not so friendly, and he tells them that it could end as a "disaster" if they don't lay down their guns. The natives answer: "Oh, I think we already experienced disaster".
SPOILER END
So yearh, I think the time of the natives were over at the time of the game..
"This game was based in the time of the "wild west" dieing. Cowboys and Indians where when the west was wild and crazy. 1911 when the game was based was marking "Modernization" of the untamed wilds. At the end of the game, the junkie author McDougal sets up a meeting with some native americans. They turn out to be not so friendly, and he tells them that it could end as a "disaster". The natives answer: "Oh, I think we already experienced disaster"."

by the time the game takes place almost all native americans have been pushed into the nevada desert. the game is supposed to take place in the eastern texas western louisiana area kinda ish.
" @Chabbs0: well im colorblind. and cant see anything :D "Thats also why you couldn't tell the skin colour of all those Indians running around in the game.
" @MysteriousBob: mexicans are NOT Indians my friend. "No shit, I never said they were.
