The game is mechanically fine. I haven't encountered any intrusive camera or control issues. I have more of a problem with it just being boring.

This is one of those situations where you say your peace and walk away. Telling everyone they're looking at something wrong will probably do everything except enlighten them to the perspective you think is right.

@SargeGulp: Yeah, there basically wasn't as many, but it's pretty much the same shit. There was plenty of "Press A to open door/help partner onto ledge" kind of thing. I understand if the game is maybe not as good as RE 4 or RE 5, but I feel like people who loved those games are suddenly acting like this game is some kind of blasphemous atrocity, when it's still basically the same thing.

You know, people trying to defend this game are doing a fairly awful job at it. "It's totally not that bad" is a poor argument for any game, particular one with the pedigree of the Resident Evil series.

Maybe it isn't that awful--I agree that the internet can be prone to hyperbole--but this doesn't look like a game that's worth paying full price for.

I never watched the quicklook. Especially when I know Brad's behind the controller. He's horrible except at rts and doom-likes. He's all like '' oh god oh god '' and is unable to do very basic maneuvers. I shouldn't have to watch people reload a checkpoint. Especially not full-on game reviewers who basically play games all day. But hey, that's camera stress. I dig that. And maybe Brad didn't die in his RE6 quicklook. I'll give him that.

That said, Re6 doesn't '' fail miserably ''. It has control issues, sure, like a shit fucking asston of games. You're exaggerating, but it's pretty common with people like you. Ever tried to go from an AoE spinning attack, holding L1, into a counter or block, in God of War? Chances are, you'll try to counter, but often you'll do that weak spinning move instead, getting you insta-killed in the highest difficulty modes.. So, in your definition, it's SHIT control.

Brad must be playing a different game. I don't see what is broken about it. I've played 4 chapters so far and enjoying it. Even the "stealth" section in Jake's chapter wasn't that bad at all.

I haven't touched the game or even the demo so I do not have an opinion on the quality of the game. From the quick look it seemed that maybe the controls can take a while to get used to but besides that it seemed half decent. The thing is is that you shouldn't let the internets reaction to the game get to you. I'm assuming you are enjoying it and isn't that all that matters in this case? Sure if this was a small franchise and the reaction to it had a huge impact on the franchise continuing I could see why you are concerned. But this is Resident Evil. It will sell well regardless of the reception it gets and I'll eat everyone's hats, shirts and pants in this thread if they announce no Resident Evil 7. I will pay shipping and everything. Bottom line is don't worry about what other people think as long as you feel it is a good game.

They tries to appeal to a wider audience and alienated their hardcore fans by straying too far away from what made them love Resident Evil. They also created sub par versions of the games they tried to emulate so no one liked the game.

RE5's QTE were fucking stupid.  RE6 actually looks way worse than RE5 and the gunplay looks retarded.  

Personally I've always felt that Resident evil games played like total crap, so I've found this whole thing to be both vindicating and a bit confusing.

I don't get it either, all people's complaints with it seem to be the exact same complaints as 4/5 despite the fact 6 plays just as good if not better in some spots.

I am not sure RE4 could be released in today's market either or at the very least would even more divisive. Times have changed along with expectations.

I sort of agree with OP, the hate is a bit too much. I played the demo and had minimal complaints. It's not a great game, but I'd say good enough to play when the price gets more fair.

I'm sorry, but if you're going to call people out on liking games you don't (kind of ironic considering his complaint) and not offer up anything substantial on why the game you're supposed to be defending is good, I'm going to call you out for bitching. Because that is all that comment was.
