So, if the rumors are true, Respawn's game isn't going to come out for quite a while. Still, let's just think 2014. Right up against Black Ops 3. How may of you Giant Bombers are going to stick with Call of Duty? I myself get the CoD every year, free from Goozex. But if had a choice between Respawn and Black Ops 3? I'd go with ReSpawn. Its funny though because by that time Halo 5 and Bungie's Destiny will be out. TimeSplitters and the Battlefield 4's are gonna have a hard time clawing for the Major Nelson's top xbl games on the month.

Anyway, what dream features do you kids wanna see in these games? Browser leaderboard features, weapon classes, guns, customizations, premise, anything.

I'm hoping respawn is gonna be like the Command and Conquer FPS that never was.

I think the dudes behind Respawn have massively inflated egos. The game will probably be solid, but I'm not going to be in any rush to get the game regardless of how good it looks leading up to the release.

I'm pretty sure we don't even know what Respawn's game is going to be. All we know is it will have guns, because in some update they went to a gun range to capture a bunch of sounds.

I don't know that I really care about playing a lot of FPS games anymore. Until Valve releases another, then I will. :-) At least their games only come out every once in a while.

My primary deciding factor is whether the game is fun. If they're both fun I'll play both.

I'm going to say a Respawn game purely because it is less likely to be simply another Call of Duty iteration. But if it is just another COD-based shooter that is really disappointing. At this point it doesn't matter how well that is executed, I have no interest in playing another one of those games. Get back to me in five years, Call of Duty.

Also, I vote for Vinny.

As for the actual answer, I've been in DICE's camp for years now, and doubt I'll change. The first Modern Warfare was a fun diversion from Battlefield 2 for a while, but since then, it's been nothing but BF3.

I feel like Respawn has taken perhaps too long to get whatever their game is out there, even just info wise. I don't know if the current Call Of Duty crowd even remembers/cares who the Respawn guys are anymore.

I am not planning on buying the next CoD. I came *this* close to buying Black Ops 2 for my PC when I played my brother's PS3 version and had tons of fun - for about a week. And then I simply stopped caring about it, and that's really the way I feel about the series as a whole. It has runs its course for me. It was great, once, and still is - but I don't really want much to do with it.

I don't even know what Respawn's thing is but it probably isn't going to be much different that CoD4.

Is it just me who thinks the acronym of Call of Duty should always be fully capitalised? CoD looks dumb to me, whereas COD doesn't. Well, now looking at it, I feel as though it just looks like I misspelled OCD.

What the hell is Respawn? Never heard of it. Nothing will ever replace Call of Duty. I wouldn't waste ten minutes on anything that isn't Call of Duty.

Resapawn Entertainment are the most of the original creators of Call of Duty, all the way up to MW2.

I'm interested in seeing what Respawn does, but I'm just not into the style of shooter that those dudes made in the past, and I sure as hell have no interest in whatever Call of Duty is now.

Ah. Then no, considering MW3 and Black Ops II were the best Call of Duty games...There's no way they'll even come close.

I always though Call of Duty was kind of icky and the whole Oliver North-thing with BLOPS II solidified that for me. I really hope that shooters won't continue to be the "it" thing for the bulk of the next console generation.

Well, the next Call of Duty game will be a Call of Duty game, and Respawn's game will be some manner of game. So given the choice, I guess I'd go with the game?

If it's just another military shooter then "no". If it's something more interesting, then maybe. I have no interest in competitive multiplayer which is the bread-n'-butter of COD. If the Respawn guys are trying to catch lightning in a bottle twice by playing it safe and doing what they're known best for, then I'm gonna pass.

I haven't played a COD game since MW2. I breezed through that single-player campaign in an afternoon and felt short-changed by the experience. If the Respawn game has a vibrant single-player campaign like Far Cry 3 or something, then I'll pick it up.

Truth is, I suck at CoD, but I have fun playing "Michael Myers" with friends, and C4'ing a tank in Battlefield is unmatched. You guys gotta have dreams, do you..

It's not an either/or proposition for me. I like games and I have no brand loyalty, I'll just keep buying both.

@MikkaQ: Well, I mean, buying doesn't matter I guess. But where are you gonna play all week with your friends? I bought FarCry 3 and it was great, but certainly no one plays that multiplayer. Like, I have PS3, and people are gonna gobble up the Last of Us, but that fanbase won't stick around long after the 720 launch.

Like I genuinely want to know what @jdh5153 wants out of MW4 and stuff. I saw this kid on the Vergecast chat that wanted to buy a xbox now for Halo 4. I think I swayed him not to buy it Now. I dunno, I'd love a TimeSplitters 4 multiplayer, but I know all the kids are the CoD.
