Which one are you getting? Guitar Hero 4, Rock band 2, or both?

I was thinking about GH4, until I saw the setlist for RB2.  They said over 500 songs by the end of the year.  I definitely getting Rock Band 2.

can I go with both?  It looks to me that Guitar Hero World Tour is shaping up quite nicely and I happen to prefer the GH games to Rock Band but I will be picking up the disc of RB2 just because I already have the instruments at my disposal.

Rock Band 2 for me. Regardless of how good GH:WT tuns out to be, I've invested a lot in Rock Band, and I love the game to death.

I'm buying both. But out of the two, I'm more excited for Guitar Hero. Partly because of the extra input for the drums, but mostly because I'm really good at the guitar, and Guitar Hero charts are more difficult. Rock Band always feels off to me.

Plus, it has Hendrix exclusive, which gives it an instant setlist victory.

I am getting both, but I have to see what the GHWT set list is first.  The leaked set list was proven fake. See address below.

I don't know. I heard the PS3 version of RB2 doesn't come out for little while after the 360 version.
No idea which one to get, but probably RB.

Guitar Hero 4 all the way.

i like the drum kit much better
i like the new guitar much better
i like the new gameplay features (garageband-like song creation features)
and the set list is pretty tight right now, and im sure you can use the dlc from GH3, like that awesome Top Gun theme.
And besides, Van Halen had me sold on this one. i want eruption in there so bad

Hendrix exclusivity is pretty huge for them. Also, if the leaked setlist is believed, they have Tool exclusivity as well, which is also huge.

Leaked setlist has been confirmed fake, just read around like the link that RHCPfan posted above.

I'm getting both. All that I needed to know was that I could use my Rock Band drums and mic with GH:WT, and since I can I'm sold.

Except for the fact that you can't use GH3 DLC for World Tour. Activision confirmed that a while back...

Anyways I'm getting both. But I'm sure Rock Band 2 will be the better product even without all those new features such as song creation (which I'm still skeptical about).

You mean the 4 songs they've actually announced? Cuz that leaked list was fake. And Activision has already said GH3 DLC will not work with GH:WT.

On subject, I'm getting RB2, at least the game and drums, and I'll probably buy just the game for GH:WT.

The song creator will most likely be screwed up and not have been worked on for long enough. It's just going to be one more thing to advertise GH: WT with, and if it actually does turn out decent I'll be very surprised. I'm already mad that you can't add in your own vocals.

Harmonix said if they ever go that route, they'll make it count.

For me, a RB veteran, Rock Band 2 makes the most sense. I have already spent hundreds of dollars on the game, controllers, and DLC, so it is logical to go ahead and not throw all of that away. GH4 looks fun and the rumored setlist had a few gems on it, so I might just pick up the disc. Cross-game functionality on controllers is hot.

If I had more time and money I would get both, but I'm going for GH: World Tour.  The main reason is because the standard instruments are more appealing to me and making your own songs is going to be hella fun.

Rock band 2 for sure! The interface is much cleaner and smoother (Guitar hero IV still looks rough with the cartoonish edgy colors, not like Rock Band's elegant gameplay and interface). Also, The drum kit and the guitar are more user/noob friendly (less buttons and no touch sliders for playing with noobish friends and GFs).

And I dunno about you guys, but the GHIV make your own music stuff looks really hard, I just wanna play with my friends and have fun! It's almost like the difference between say Burnout and Forza Motorsport, too much sim=not much fun.

The hardcore will go with Rock Band 2, mainly because they've heard of it already.
However the mainstream know the brand "Guitar Hero", and I predict that it will sell better.
I personally would go with Guitar Hero mainly because of the creation tools.

I'm definitely getting RB2.  I just love the vibe Harmonix put into the first game, and the RB2 set list looks great.  Plus I already have a ton of Rock Band songs.

I'm definitely curious about GH:WT, though.  I'll have to see what the rel set list is like, and then I may pick up the game only.  But Neversoft put a harsher, cruder edge to GH when they took it over, and I just don't like GH3 as much as the previous versions.  So I can't get excited about their new take on the series.

Activision was very smart to make World Tour compatible with the Rock Band gear.  Now they actually have a chance at my 60 bucks.

I will most prbly be getting both, old RB instruments are compatible with the 360 version of GH:WT, no reason to not buy both in that case.

IMO, main issue with the "choosing" is the price that comes with instruments,

Also, i'll prlby start destroying my original drums intentionnaly, once they break, buy the new set or mod the old one somehow (I void waranties)

I'm just getting Rock Band 2 because even though there is some exclusive artists, most of the content will be available as a download or something similar at least, and it's just not worth having to switch discs and manage two inventories of songs for me.

Also, I've noticed that I don't really listen to the songs as much as just my own drumming, which isn't usually my favorite part of a song anyways. I'm too focused on drumming to think about it.

I am buying RB2 with the instruments (mainly to replace my messed up RB1 ones) and then the GH:WT game on it's own, as the Rock Band instruments are compatible, FINALLY!

I might get a GH guitar, just because they're generally better, so long as it is without a detachable neck.

I like a challenge too but i GH's charts are sometimes overcharted. Before I forget and Cliffs of Dover are both horribly charted in my opinion. And this is coming from a guy who beat Jordan on expert.

It is. And they've said it should be released at around the same time as the US this time. Although that is getting closer, and still no sign of a release date, so maybe we'll have to wait 6 months like for RB1.

Rock Band 2 for me for sure. I may rent the GH:WT disk, but that's it.

    Rock Band 2..
Ever since gh3 the guitar hero series looks wrong to me.. circles look wrong and I can't stand the graphics

And besides.. RB2 is backward compatible with all my 1.8gb worth of RB DLC and I prefer Harmonix as a company to Neversoft.

At first, I was only going to get RB2 because I had the rock band instruments and really didn't want to make room for new ones. Then I heard I can use my instruments in GH:WT, and Activision officially got my $60 as well. I'm getting both, because the both have songs I really want to play. GH:WT has Hotel California and Crazy Train, as well as a few more, while rock band 2 has Carry on Wayward Son, Pinball Wizard, and AC/DC, which means we may get some more as DLC. They both have Eye of the Tiger, too, which I can't wait to play.
