Rock Band 2, I was sorely dissapointed by Neversoft's ability when I played Guitar Hero III. World Tour would have to have some amazing feedback and I'd probably have to have some hands-on time before I play another Guitar Hero game. Harmonix knows music... Neversoft, not so much.
Rock Band 2
Game » consists of 7 releases. Released Sep 14, 2008
Harmonix, MTV Games, and EA return with the sequel to Rock Band. Rock Band 2 ships with 84 on-disc songs, 20 free downloadable songs, compatibility with all DLC, and the ability to import most songs from the first Rock Band.
GH4 or RB2
Rock Band 2 for sure. GH world tour looks cool, but rock bands set list is much better, plus Rock band's DLC is WAAAAY better. Texas Flood, Moving Pictures, just some of the great things to come for Rock Band.
GH4 for me. Simply because here in Oz we havent gotten either Rock Band yet (it wasnt even banned!). Seeing how I've been screwed this way, and Guitar Hero actually coming out the same time and they have been awesome in the past, I know how it will play (the guitar parts anyway) and the track list is ok. If Rock Band had come out already, could be a different story
RB2: I already have their fisher price instruments, the songs transfer from RB1, and there is significant overlap between RB2 and GH:WT's setlists.

The funny thing is, I play Rock Band with the GH guitars, and soon to be GH drums, but I like the Rock Band set lists way more. Either way though, I'll end up with both games, but the GH drums look way rad. I've drums for the last three years and playing the RB kit never felt completely right, espeically when I was doing songs with 1/16th note patterns. the raised hi-hat just seems to make those work less awkwardly? i dunno...
GH:WT personally. I mean, the drums just look awesome and I kind of am a fan of the Guitar Hero name.
"Neither.Honestly, this is probably the smartest way to go. Haha.
BAM!"
For me, it's totally Rock Band. I'll end up buying the Guitar Hero disc, but the overall experience feels much more fluid with Rock Band.

"I'm definitely getting RB2. I just love the vibe Harmonix put into the first game, and the RB2 set list looks great. Plus I already have a ton of Rock Band songs.exactly. i hated the art style in gh3. and world tour looks the same. also i really can't play it now after rock band. the visuals are terrible and the circle notes are soooooooooooo awful :u also...i love harmonix ;d
I'm definitely curious about GH:WT, though. I'll have to see what the rel set list is like, and then I may pick up the game only. But Neversoft put a harsher, cruder edge to GH when they took it over, and I just don't like GH3 as much as the previous versions. So I can't get excited about their new take on the series.
Activision was very smart to make World Tour compatible with the Rock Band gear. Now they actually have a chance at my 60 bucks."
anyways i'll probably buy the disc for gh:wt just because i need some more achievements.
I've got RB2, and love it. Very impressed with the setlist (with a few exceptions), really like the more polished interface, and love so much of the released and announced DLC (Stevie Ray Vaughn! AC/DC!)
I rented GH:WT to see if it was worth a disc-only purchase (don't need any more plastic instruments, thanks), and wasn't impressed. I'm glad I got to play some of the cool tunes on there (like the Hendrix stuff), but the rough edges on the presentation and the overall setlist left me feelin' meh. There are some nice things in there, like the "open string" for bass players, but not enough to win me over. Sending it back to GameFly tomorrow.
I would choose RB2, mainly because the drums are secured to actually work than GH: WT's right now. Once they fix the drum's problem, I would recommend getting it for the drums, but now, I would just buy RB2's bundle, and get the disc of GH: WT.
Rock Band 2 has an endless amount of songs, and there is something for everyone. I found myself undecided when it came to picking a song. And at least Harmonix replaces the instruments instead of doing he whole "drum tuner" shit.
ROCK BAND RULES!
Probably RB2 because of a more diverse track list and some great online. Maybe i'll buy GTWT after and use it with the RB hardware.
RB2 is insanely good plus i have over 200 songs so im not gonna stop playing it iv invested alot of money
Rock Band.
I have alot invested in dlc and i wasnt impressed with ghwt when i played it over a friends house
i like the design of the gh drum kit, but i have enough plastic instruments :)
i still think gh has been too gimicky and is getting worse with the advertisements
it still (fpr now) feels like rock band is more about the music than the revenue
