I'm loving Rockband at the moment
Rock Band
Game » consists of 13 releases. Released Nov 20, 2007
Rock Band expands on the concepts Harmonix established in its Guitar Hero franchise by allowing players to play guitar, bass, drums, and sing to a variety of songs from various sub-genres and time periods.
Rockband Vs. GuitarHero series
I have no doubt that GH: WT won't be quite on par with Rock Band, but it's not out yet, so we'll have to wait and see. I'll probably be getting both RB 2 and GH: WT because of the drum compatibility, and I'm sure I'll enjoy both.
I do like rockband, but im British. Since we only have rock band on 1 system over here at the moment(x360) rock band is decidedly less popular than guitar hero over here.
I love rock band (bought it while i was in the states in april) but im really really looking forward to gh world tour. I think it will have an overall better feel than rock band.
Rock Band is exponentially better than Guitar Hero, and though GHWT may have bigger bands and more famous songs, its gameplay will stop you from enjoying those songs.
Rock Band wins.
Rock Band just...feels better than Guitar Hero, and I can say with certainty that I'll have more fun with RB2 than GH:WT. Harmonix knows their fans, and love the music they give us. I can't say the same about Neversoft.
"Rock band for the game, but the guitar for guitar hero is so much better. The rock band guitar feels so flimsy in comparison, and the lack of a clicker is just plain madness.Well since you can use the Guitar Hero guitars with Rock Band (with the exception of the Les Paul for PS3 users), that shouldn't really affect your decision.
"
"Can't we just all agree that music games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band are totally awesome in general?"Sorry my friend but that just can't be. Ok this is my last post, then I'm going to bed.
Rockband, by far kicks Guitar Hero's ass. Not only are the notecharts for RB are well thought out and are actually tested before being put in the game, but they have a way better DLC strategy going compared to what GH is offering. Although guitar hero does have the better equipment, that's still no excuse for the lazy developing.
Remember who created the first and second guitar hero. Harmonix. Who are now making rockband. They are musicians first, game developers second. Activision (or nerversoft) aren't musicians at all. They treat guitar hero as if it were just another game. Why do you think they came out with so many Gh titles lately? Because their treating like the new Tony Hawk. Milking it for all it's worth just because it has a name that will sell. But the douche bags at Activision weren't the ones who made the name "Guitar Hero" popular. It was Harmonix.
Ok, good night kiddies!!
"Rock Band is better than GH III because Rock Band has drums. 'nuff said....You do realize there is a little game called Guitar Hero: World Tour coming out that has drums and vocals, right?

i don't know what it is but i just can't play guitar hero anymore. it looks so...i dunno...old or something in comparison with rock band. i simply hate the style of gh3. this whole metal look to it and cartoony stuff. i prefer rock band in that matter. also the notes are much more visible and makes much more sense in RB than in guitar hero. in gh you have like milion notes that aren't even in the track. they're just in there to make things harder. i hate that.
however i prefer the guitar from guitar hero3 than stratocaster. buttons are bigger and imo it's easier to play on it than on the rock band one.
about gh world tour- if they stop adding stupid notes just for sake of making the game harder i'll like it. i know i'll buy it because i need my rhytm game fix but you know...
oh. also the drum parts in gh:wt looks freaking terrible. i can't read this stuff. stupid fretboards. rock band got it right with the transparent design.
i've seen guitar hero world tour in action, and the cymbals are not that responsive. hopefully they will fix it but i think that i will stick with rock band. the design is great, you can see all of the notes and everything. on another note, the ion drum set for rock band 2 looks freaking awesome. probably really expensive though.
They're both fine, but I'm with Harmonix because of Activision's "fuck you" corporate attitude about not making the peripherals compatible, and completely and unapolegetically ripping off Rock Band. Harmonix, on the other hand, is a reall cool group of dudes who just love music, and you can tell.
So corporate attitude wins it for me, over any gameplay item, oddly enough.
"AndrewP said:Yep, that's why I said Rock Band 1 is better than GH III. I didn't say anything about the new games because nobody is really able to make a judgement about them yet because nobody has played them."Rock Band is better than GH III because Rock Band has drums. 'nuff said....You do realize there is a little game called Guitar Hero: World Tour coming out that has drums and vocals, right?"

I liked Rock Band more than GH3, but I'm not sure who to side with this year. Both games look great.
Rack Band hasn't been released in Eu yet, but i still prefer it to Guitar Hero, simply because I'm not the best GH player in my social circle anymore
I like Guitar Hero and Rock Band, but I like Rock Band more than GH, because you can also play drums and sing. But I don't like the buttons on the Rock Band guitar, and I have GH 3 and RB for Wii, and the GH controller won't work with Rock Band on Wii. But I think GH On Tour looks cool.
The song selection is better overall in Guitar Hero (thus far), but Rock Band has made up for it my having better DLC. The GH3 Les Paul controller is, in my opinion, far superior to the Rock Band Strat controller. As far as GH: World Tour vs RB2, RB2's song selection is looking better at the moment.
