Alright. I thought that in order to prevent a smattering of topics on the forums about this, I'd create one more. But by doing so I hope to centralize the discussion in to one single area. I'll provide links to all the relevant, already created threads, and update this original post with new developments in what's going on. I'll toss a link to the original thread here. A good thing to check out would be this features page. Lot's of basic information to go off of for people like me who're just starting.Also after some not-so-detective work, I've found out that maintenance times are Wenesday from 11:30PM PDT to Thursday 3:30AM PDT. This seems like the routine maintenance schedule, so be aware of that when you're planning out your activities in game. For those of you not in PDT, here's a handy little timezone converter.
Trouble Shooting
A thread on downloading issues, started by a distressed Slax.One of the problems I had while installing was a message that said something along the lines of "insufficient permissions" to install. To fix that all I had to do was go in to Control Panel and turn off User Account Control (Search UAC).
It also seems like Firewalls have been posing some problems during some install and patching. It seems best to be present during updates to help it along in case your computer decides to block something.
Minimum Requirements - Pulled from the Runes of Magic Forums
Operation System: Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Higher, or Windows Vista
CPU: AMD 2500 + or above INTE Pentium 4 - 2.0GHz
Memory: 512MB
Video Card*: Direct X 9 compatible Graphic Card w/128mb Memory Nvidia Geforce FX 5700, **ATi Radeon 9600 (someone confirmed running it at minimum settings on an ATI Radeon 9550 SE)
Intel Integrated Support:
Hard disk space: 4GBChipsets: Intel 915, 945, 946, Q963, G31, Q33, Q35
Core Models: Intel GMA 950, 3000, X3000, X3100, X3500, X4
DirectX:*** 9.0c
*Integrated Intel GPUs have issues with games. They are designed for economy not performance and cause issues with games. There is a good chance the game wont run on Intel GPUs.
**The only requirements we could find listed the ATI Radeon 6200 which doesnt actually exist. The 9600 is the equivilant of the GeForce 5700 so we will go with this for now.
***This Spec doesn't mean what version of DX you have installed, it means which version your video card Supports, but you still need to install the latest version. I.E: you can have DX10 but your card is only DX9c, DX10 features will not work.
